I used to be uber obsessed with anime, but now I can't really stand it. It's so obnoxious and cheesy. The worst thing about it though are the fans.

What's wrong with devilishly handsome, non-greasy, clean, physically fit fans that don't live in their parents' basements? :)

If you watch cartoon network at all these days, you'll see that anime is slowly eating american cartoons and making them part of it's enormous, disfigured body. A lot of anime ROCKS, but then there's a lot of crap, too... just like with American television.

Also, in response to the bit of Eva bashing i saw. Try watching it 3-4 times in a row with a few stanford philosophy/language/theology types. It's a little bit of genius, and it's damned entertaining, too. There are so many hidden references in that anime, it's great.

some say genius is only slightly off from insanity, so i guess you're right considering the creator/writer of eva is a nutcase. oh and i agree about the "hidden references" bit if you mean randomly grabbing a bunch of western/christian symbols and idealogies and then twisting them around to form a big ball of intelligible poop. :)
