Family Guy and Simpsons don't mean American cartoons are owning anime. You have to look at the bulk of anime and the bulk of American cartoons. Bugs Bunny doing blackface is not my idea of a good cartoon.

in terms of story, anime hands down

in terms of comedy, american cartoons, because shows like family guy/simpsons focus on comedy with very little long term story to it, they do not self terminate except at the will of Faux executives

for those that think american cartoons are super uber mega awesome, watch king of the hill then bang your head on a brick wall as to why they haven't been canned before futurama/family guy

I don't watch many cartoons, but I'd prefer American. I'd like to like anime since I like long, epic stories, but they have the worst storylines. The typical storyline consists of a singing robot that hypnotizes 15 year-old children that fight in top-secret robot-transforming (probably female robots) fighter jets or some other crap. Oh yeah, and they're trying to save the world. 15 year old kids.

American cartoons only appeal to the little kids unfortunately. The only ones that don't are satirical humor but those too are still severely limited.

Anime hands down. And PLEASE don't bash anime how its unrealistic or some stupid sh1t like that with your transforming car robots, talking bears with rainbow powers, little blue dwarfs, etc etc.

the quality of the animation in Anime is unsurpassed, nothin in teh US can come close, well mabye teh origional animated batman

for quality of shows its a tir IMO
