Same for "Speed Channel" which is in reality "NASCAR TV" for all intents & purposes.
It was waaay better when it was Speedvision, at least then they made the attempt to put on some interesting stuff on other aspects of racing.

they should start doing ratings weighted by the intelligence of the audience watching the show. Just cause 100 million retards watch a show does not make it good. But what you gonna do?

Seriously.
Whatever happened to all the channels and the animals?
When growing up in middle/high school, I was watching Kraft's creatures at 5pm, Marty Stouffer's Wild America at 7pm, and some.
Each time I flip to National Geographic, Discovery Channel, or Animal Planet they're always doing some stupid crap.
Animal cops, something stupid about dogs or cats, some stupid baby animal growing up in human captivity, Top 10 "XXX", a human trying to survive in the wild, and other stupid shit.
The History/Military Channel also seems to be following that same trend but they're not quite there yet.
I now spend most of my time downloading these things from MVGroup.
Nice forum/torrent site with lots of educational information for anyone interested.

While we're on the topic. If I see another mythbusters or dirty jobs re-run I'm going to punch myself.
Reality TV syndrome has affected all the science and nature channels too. I guess it was inevitable. It's one thing to have E/VH1 type networks doing it constantly but science and animal channels? I can't remember the last time I saw a real narrated animal show anymore. All these discovery network channels, history too, is all becoming interactive host reality TV. What happened to just plain boring science lol.... (answered own question)Originally posted by: Lothar
