Animal Planet should just be named Dog Planet

Insufficient ratings. Same reason all the remaining nature shows have turned to Top 10 countdowns with lousy high-tempo "music" in the background, at a level apparently aimed at first-graders.

Now get off my lawn.

yea i dont no y peeps luv dog so much i dont like'em cuz 2 many fools send'em bite my ass on PU"RPOSE so i got to BOP them in da head
owners go were ma gun were ma gun but pfft aint gonna shoot me didn't even kill da dog

put sum frogs on show tho an its cool

Same for "Speed Channel" which is in reality "NASCAR TV" for all intents & purposes.

It was waaay better when it was Speedvision, at least then they made the attempt to put on some interesting stuff on other aspects of racing.

Yup. I quit watching when it ceased being Speedvision.

they should start doing ratings weighted by the intelligence of the audience watching the show. Just cause 100 million retards watch a show does not make it good. But what you gonna do?

Ahh, but 100 million retards with money will make the show profitable.

Wow, last night as I was skimming through the listings, I noticed that it was nothing but dog shows on Animal Planet... hour after hour, nothing but dogs. They need more goat shows. 😛

maybe they could take the idiot Dog Whisperer show off of National Geographic, so they could get back to something worth watching!!

That show was cool for maybe the 3 times I watched it. Now its just the same crap over and over. Between that and animal planet, just make a dogs channel already so we can get on with the rest of the animal kingdom.

Seriously.

Whatever happened to all the channels and the animals?
When growing up in middle/high school, I was watching Kraft's creatures at 5pm, Marty Stouffer's Wild America at 7pm, and some.

Each time I flip to National Geographic, Discovery Channel, or Animal Planet they're always doing some stupid crap.
Animal cops, something stupid about dogs or cats, some stupid baby animal growing up in human captivity, Top 10 "XXX", a human trying to survive in the wild, and other stupid shit.

The History/Military Channel also seems to be following that same trend but they're not quite there yet.

I now spend most of my time downloading these things from MVGroup.
Nice forum/torrent site with lots of educational information for anyone interested.

The History Channel is just about UFOs and Monster Quest now. Everytime I turn it on it's something about Roswell. They used to have such good military history on there. It makes me sad now.

I loved that show when I was in grade school!

Reality TV syndrome has affected all the science and nature channels too. I guess it was inevitable. It's one thing to have E/VH1 type networks doing it constantly but science and animal channels? I can't remember the last time I saw a real narrated animal show anymore. All these discovery network channels, history too, is all becoming interactive host reality TV. What happened to just plain boring science lol.... (answered own question)

sorry jeff but that plot idea is used up, old and moldy. your show wont last

Andrew Zimmer's show on travel channel is awesome.

I basically watch travel channel more then food network now since it seems more about food. Anthony Bourdain's No Reservation is awesome and Andrew Zimmer's bizzare foods show is also good. Even Man Vs Food is entertaining.
