I know a lot of people who like ACDC better than GnR's, but like Slash better as a guitarist, or vice versa. I think both are great, but I think Angus Young is much better, especially with non-playing performance (duck walk, stage running, etc), and his Live solos and improv. stuff is great. I have some more points too, but I want to see what others have to say first.

For reference some of their best stuff:

Personally I think Slash is overrated as a guitarist. Don't get me wrong, I think he's an awesome player, but he's certainly not the guitar god people make him out to be.

ACDC rocks way more than GnR.

But I love GnR too.

Yeah I have seen that, and besides the quality being horrible that shows more of his awesome stage stuff, but also you cannot not show his solo in you shook me all night long (By far his best he's written).

I vote Angus not only because of his technical prowess but his stage presence, which is second to none.

I love 'em both but I will have to go with Angus Young. Angus does the simple things real well. Guitar doesn't have to be complicated....it just needs to make you want to play air guitar :D

Kinda surprised by the poor turnout for Slash.

I guess Angus has to get credit for being great for so long, but I think Slash has just as much of that 'you know who it is from the very first note' about his playing, and a better mix of technical and 'feel'.

Neither one is even close to the best technical players in the world, and I might have to pick Santana for pure feeling, but my vote in this poll goes to Slash.

Angus smokes slash. And 10 times the showman. Too bad Bonn Scott died.

Hmm, poll is closer than I thought. Where are all the people posting who voted for Slash? I would love to hear your opinion added to the others who have stated so.

That's a toughie.

Angus may be a better performer, but Slash has got that hat! Personally I like Slash's style a little more. I am not sure what it is, maybe some blues influence or something - I don't know what exactly.

So, I'll go with Slash because I like GnR more than AC/DC, but that should not be taken to mean I don't like AC/DC at all.

The only AC/DC album I've heard in it's entirety is Back in Black, and its been a while since I listened to that. (Have just heard a few other songs from their other records) I remember it being very catchy, memorable yet simple in its sound. (Rock N'Roll Ain't Noise Pollution, Hells Bells, Back in Black....great riffs!)

But I only had to hear GnR's "Breakdown" & "Estranged" once to declare my undying love for Slash...and Dizzy Reed...AND Guns N'Roses!!! Slash's solos are insane, make you air guitar your ass off and make screeching sounds with your mouth!

I've never seen Slash in person, but I have to say I like AC/DC much better. All my guitar playin' buddies have always thought Angus Young was a genius. Maybe it's not always apparent to us neophytes, but I'll tell you what he and Bon Scott were great in '82.
