bought 3 NY Stip steaks. Put on my new weber grill, 2 came out so moist and juicy, and the biggest one tasted like shit. So tough and rubbery I can barely eat it. It tasted like that beef was from an old cow on its last legs. Is there anyone I can complain to to get my money back? So pissed off right now. 😡
 
always look at the strip steak first. if you see a half-moon shape where the meat looks different from the rest then you have a crappy cut.
 
By coincidence the first time I've ever purchased Walmart branded beef was just the other day and I was actually very impressed. It was a 4-pack of (supposedly) 80/20 Angus burgers and they came out great on the grill.

I would go back to the store with your receipt and see customer service.

all of the cuts looked good. perfect marbling in the steaks, just the one big cut (out of the 3) that feels like they butchered an old cow because it's chewy as hell. cooked mid rare i'd expected it to taste like butter but that wasn't the case. paid 20 bucks for the pack. 😡
 
Someone overcooked the steak and doesn't want to admit it. 🙁
Alternatively he cut the last one the wrong way...

it happens, there is no guarantee that the meat will be great, it was indeed cow so they're off the hook even if they didn't hang the cow long enough to make it palatable.
Different price, different quality.

I learned long ago if you want quality steaks don't go to walmart. go to a store that has an actual meat counter with butchers working in it.
 
#1 you bought Walmart beef. We get our $10,000 steaks hand delivered and applied to the grill by the courier. The grill is ALWAYS ready.

#2 you did not confirm that you flame kissed the steaks. Since #1 happened, you clearly cooked the steaks well done - no red. You should be ashamed.

shrug. shit happens.

call and tell them. If it's as bad as you said you still have the steak since you didn't eat it. odds are they will take it back.

Makes me wonder what they would do with the perfectly sanitary meat cuts that people just don't like. Should they throw them away instead of selling it?
 
We've gone back to Walmart a couple times unhappy about meat or produce, got a full refund on those items with zero hassle.
