a lot of you people need to step down off of your high horse, jeez. 😛 i'm not a Walmart fanboy but it was convenient to just purchase the steak there when i was out shopping for some miscellaneous items for my house. my brother made a nice steak bought from Walmart several months ago so that also made my decision to purchase 3 NY strips a no brainer.

Someone overcooked the steak and doesn't want to admit it.
Alternatively he cut the last one the wrong way...

no sir. i used this baby http://www.amazon.com/iDevices-IGR0009-iGrill2-Bluetooth-Thermometer/dp/B00NC4KU42 and each steak hit 135ish before i took it off the grill and let it come up to 140 so they were all cooked mid rare and perfect.

We've gone back to Walmart a couple times unhappy about meat or produce, got a full refund on those items with zero hassle.

do you just bring back the already cooked steak and say, um, i want a refund? seriously, how does this work?

i threw the other piece of inedible steak out to the stray animals. god bless them if they can get that chewy pos down.

You're gonna have a pile of dead skunks, racoons, and possum in your back yard. Choked to death. That'll be a nice start for a vulture feeder though :^D

Hate to tell you this but 140 is borderline medium. 🙁
If you took at out at 135 the inside could have reached as high as 145 which is solidly medium.

i think you're right. the software had presets. i chose the mid rare program so i may have taken it out before 135. the smaller steaks were medium and the one i cooked for myself (the biggest steak) was mid rare.

go easy on him, guys.

stuff happens.

Maybe the OP needs to check out some local butchers. You would be surprised at some of the deals they have.

op overcooks steak to well done and wants to blame walmart.

sounds about right for the american way!

op should probably sue just to be extra american since it was 4th of july weekend.

I don't return fruit or meat. Both fruit and meat is a gamble. I know that going in. Bad fruit or meat is an act of god. Take it up with him or Jerry Seinfeld.
