Many peoples of the world believes in God. The few angry atheists who coalesce on AT need reassurance from each other that they are an elite enlightened bunch instead of seeing the truth that they are simply a lost herd of sheep that God loves and wants in His company. This is a sad outcome of our God-given free will. The pain and suffering of a child is even more sad, but Christ's suffering on the cross can give us all hope.
 
If their daughter died because their son ran her over, and believing in God, miracles, etc. makes them feel better, good for them. If my dog died I'd be distraught. Can't imagine what it would be like to lose a kid.

I think it's perfectly reasonable for the phrase "there is no God" to roll off the tongue as easily "God bless you". But for some reason it instantly tightens the butthole of any believer in earshot. If people keep talking about God, people will keep asking "what God?"

If you spout some Jesusy religious nonsense, I'm going to tell you you're wrong and why. And maybe mock you a little. At least a fundamentalist nut will argue with you. These liberal, fence-sitting douche-bags just yell "shut up, you're offending people's beliefs!"

I am of the opinion that anybody who believes in any god(s) absolutely must have some major anger towards him/her/them for allowing the world to be so fucked up at times.
