To be typecast, don't you need multiple parts where you play a similar character? What other roles has he done where he played a vampire?Originally posted by: apac
Sucks for David Boreanaz, he's definitely been typecast.

I loved the show. It definitely had it's highs and lows over the years and it will suck to see it go. The WB will need another sci-fi show to replace it, especially after the loss of Buffy a few years ago and now Angel.

That sucks, but is not overly unexpected. They seemed to be running a little shy of ideas this season, at least in the episodes that I caught. At least the execs here are decent and are giving the creative team a chance to actually end things, unlike some other series which were just killed outright. (*coughcough*Farscape*coughcough*)
Will certainly miss it, but 5 seasons was a good run for any show. The only question I have now is, is there ANY good sci-fi on TV right now?

He was Angel the vampire in "Buffy", now he's Angel the vampire in "Angel". So he's been a vampire for the better part of a decade, in two very popular series, and nothing else. Sounds type-cast to me.

I agree on both accounts. I don't make it a point watch Everwood, but I could see how it could appeal to some people. Most of the sitcoms and dramas on The WB suck, IMO.Originally posted by: ScottyB

He was the SAME character. That's not type-casting, that's just being on two shows as the exact same character. Not like they could have made an Angel show and have him suddenly be a midget wrestler.
Nice tie-in with the finale.Originally posted by: CrackRabbit
If no one else picks up Angel I hope that Joss can convice someone to make Fray Into a tv series or Movie or something....
