I had them all from Amazon but for that very reason I grabbed them from the Android Market. It's ten freaking cents so it won't kill me.

+1

jesus christ how cheap are some of you people? I plan on buying 100 apps for 10 bucks by the end of this thing. Already purchased a few of these apps full price earlier, so its definite worth it.

Beautiful Widgets, Fieldrunners HD and ADW i previously purchased (i use adw free for cm7, but bought it to support developers)

You are stupid if you dont at least buy the apps that you might use one day. (i probably wont use 90% of what i buy, but even for a dollar those apps will be worth it)

I've purchased a whole lot from this sale, but I didn't buy a few just because they looked uninteresting to me. I'm just glad Google is doing this. It's amazing. I love how Amazon is trying to steal Google's thunder. >_<

Actually, it may not be specifically calculated: I remember a clause in Amazon's terms that devs were complaining about specifying that lowered prices anywhere else had to also translate to the Amazon store.

Day 3:
TETRIS ®: Install an EA product on my phone? Never. I'm boycotting anything to do with EA, and Ubisoft. Not surprising people are getting problems re-installing the app. I read the reviews from all customers there because I was curious.
Blue Skies Donation Wallpap: Wasn't sure what I'd do with this. I'm not a "live" wallpaper fanatic, but I bought it.
Homerun Battle 3D: See my previous comment about most sports games and you'll get the hint what I did here. *hint hint*
Reckless Getaway: Same people that made the racing games from yesterday. Even though I haven't tried either, I still bought it.
Talking Tom Cat 2: Don't see a purpose for this app, but it seems to have very good ratings. I bought it.
Kids Learn to Read (Preschool): More future proof stuff that I won't use for the next 5+ years. I bought it.
ADWLauncher EX: Been waiting for this to come free on Amazon so I can try it out. I bought it.
Space Physics: Not sure what to think or whether I'll ever use it. I bought it.
Toki Tori: I remember this game on GBC(or was it GBA?). I bought it.
Can Knockdown 2: Looks like a different kind of Fruit Ninja. I bought it.

Besides ADWLauncherEX, most of today's apps are junk that I may never use or even test out...But yet I somehow find myself to be paying $0.10 for them.

How many of yesterday's apps did I open? Zero.
In fact right now I have 21 notifications. I'm assuming 20 of them are from yesterday's app list. By the time it downloads these from today, it will be 36 notifications.

Can Knockdown 2 was pretty entertaining. It gets hard, although my touch game skills are not finely honed like some people.

I'm really liking ADW EX. I'm a longtime Launcherpro fan mainly for its widgets but ADW has so much more options. I still prefer Launcherpro for phone but ADW is better for tablet. I replaced the free ADW with the paid on my CM7 Touchpad.

Anyway to get a scrollable dock on ADW?

New apps for today - I would have bought a couple but I'm getting an error. Nevertheless, here's the list:

Shazam Encore
Sentinel 3
Need For Speed Shift
Baseball Superstars
Spirit HD
Jelly Defense
Paper Camera
My Beach HD
Farm Frenzy
Toddler Spanish
Game Dev Story

Downloads do not seem to be working for today's apps. :hmm:

KT

I was able to download Sentinel a few minutes ago.

but that's the only thing I'm messing with today.

Anyone else a bit "annoyed" that there's always some lame wallpaper in these offers? :\

My credit union locked my account after they saw 6 10 cent transactions in a few minute period. I'm about to call them so I can it sorted out. I can only imagine a lot of banks/cc's are doing the same thing right now.

I just buy all. 100 apps for $10 is a deal. I'm sure I'll like something out of the 100. I just think of it as buying basket of stocks. All you need is one or two to become ten-bagger.

Exactly.

AND you might decide to upgrade to a different device in the future and may change your mind about some of the apps at that time. If they are already purchased, just install them and go!

Nah, I disagree. It doesn't matter what device I'm using, I just don't see the appeal/need/use of any of the apps listed for today.

I wouldn't get them if they were free, so why get them if they actually cost money?

Game Dev Story was pretty well received at the time. And you should have either Shazam or Soundhound just because... used to be Soundhound was better, but as of a couple updates ago Shazam was.

My problem is that I have a billion apps installed and I don't want to have to uninstall anything. They really should have a "purchase and save for later" option, even if it removes the possibility of a refund.

This would definitely make me more open to spontaneous app purchases/downloads. Having to download the app upon purchase is part of the reason why I consider buying or not buying a 10 cent app (the other more important part being I don't care for the app).

There is an X button when you're downloading so you can cancel the download. The purchase still goes through.

Also you can go to market.android.com and buy stuff there. Of course that would require you to be at a computer or go to their website through your phone.

Honestly, I don't see how automatically downloading upon purchase is such a big deal. It's a tiny deal especially since you can easily cancel the download.

There's no option to cancel the download when I'm buying via the website on my computer though. That is where I do most of my actual app shopping. Once you buy you have to choose where it downloads to, and I don't remember any option to download later.

Same here.
I only buy on the Market website from my desktop.

That's where I've done ALL my Android Market shopping in fact. It's much easier for me to navigate their website on my desktop than browsing the app on the phone.

Okay? I still don't understand the problem. If you have your phone with you, you should still be able to cancel the download. If you don't have your phone with you, then it shouldn't matter that it's downloading something. If you're using your computer at home, you should have your phone with you and it should be connected to WiFi, so it won't cut into your data limit if that's your concern.

It just seems like the most trivial little thing to complain about.

You're missing the point. Data limit/WiFi is not a concern.
A lot of these apps I bought, I know I won't use them. I bought them because my younger cousins and brother may want to use them if I give the phone to them for a little bit or do a "hand me down" when I upgrade to a better handset.

Amazon has this feature to buy the apps and not install without being cumbersome, I don't see why Google cannot. It's really not that hard. How many of the free Amazon apps do I have installed? Zero. How many have I ever installed? Zero. Never installed or tried them in the 2 months I've been getting them.

The free apps on Amazon, I click buy them and that's it. I can install them later at anytime of my choosing if I want.

I think you're going through that wierd stage that people go through when they first discover bittorrent/usenet.
My answer would be don't download crap you don't need. 😛
