I guess you can keep on believing your 'market research firm', but I prefer to get my facts straight from the horse's mouth.

Seriously, how many iOS devices have sold couldn't possibly have less to do with this thread. Its about Dell & their decisions regarding Android/WP. Last time I checked, Dell was not manufacturing any iOS devices.

He was the one that wrote it. I am just calling him out for his inaccuracies and citing my sources.

Just like AMD wasn't good enough for Dell when they kept rolling out lackluster P4 computers. I'm not surprised.

Dell seems to have pulled out of the smartphone market altogether. They cancelled their "Wrigley" WP7.5 phone that was supposed to be out last month. They were conspicuously absent from MS's big Mango reveal event a couple months back.

All this speculation about Dell being paid off to make Windows Phones is a load of crap. If anything, Dell's comments are probably referring to the tablet market.

Dell adds no value, neither on software or hardware side. It's a dead duck.

I love games like this:

Are Dell about to make Apple devices?

So whats the point of posting that graph then?

Just putting things in perspective. People like to give Dell a hard time, but dell and google pretty much haven't moved in the last 3 years. I would never buy a dell product again after having bought a dell mini 10v, but they are still a major player in the tech industry.

I think dell's struggle show how hard it is penetrate the market without massive marketing for your device by the carriers. The Android market is pretty saturated.

But not in the smartphone area where they have always struggled and offered fairly crappy products.
