Android 2.2 WILL come with flash

and yeah wart...I do agree. We all do get a bit defensive about our preferences. I made this thread about Android getting flash and it took less than 10 replies for an Apple fanboi to come in and threadcrap. That's what started this whole thing.

I think we can all agree that we all benefit from increase competition - in just the last 3-4 years we have seen a ridiculous improvement in the smartphone space.

Fair enough, but let's take a look at two of your pillars: Hulu and games. By all accounts, Hulu is set to release an app - are you telling me that you really would browse to the Hulu site rather than use their iphone or android app? I think not. As for games, I would contend that the number of quality games (both free and paid) easily rivals and in most cases surpasses your average flash game. Of course, that is my opinion, but there are waaay more than enough free yet surprisingly fun games for the iphone that I don't miss any flash game.

If the Hulu app comes out before Flash does and is free, then sign me up. There are tons of awesome games in the markets, but some of my favorite little games are flash games that aren't on the market yet. More options is always better imo.

Right, it does. But do you notice who brings it there? Everytime its the Apple fanbois. Most of us Android guys admit the Iphone is a very nice device, its just not for us. We like Android better for whatever reason. But you don't see us going into apple threads and bashing on them for no apparent reason, do you?

What annoys me about Team Apple is their demeanor (see Q's first post in this thread), and their assumptions/mistruths. They take anything anyone anywhere has ever said about Android, or Apple, and lumps them into one ball, and shoves that ball on every poster here. Basically, they quite frequently claim we're saying things that no one actually said (eg: Android users bitch about rooting but not jailbreaking. Who said that? Or that Android fans insist Android will crush Apple, or that they will beat Apple's sales by X date. No one is saying that, either).

If people (on both sides) could just stick to the thread topic, and stick to what's actually been said, these discussions would go a lot smoother.

I for one, don't really see myself using flash much on my Nexus one. however its nice to have the option. perhaps Adobe will create a tool for translating flash apps to android apps similar to what they did for iPhone, that would be pretty cool.

I post here and in the Apple forum, the effect is the same from the other side, moron A posts about how bad Apple sucks balls in the Apple forum (and they typically have no fucking idea what they're talking about), moron B posts a hate Android post in GG&P's (same effect).

It's not a Flash vs iPhone Apps. It's s Flash AND Android Apps vs iPhone Apps.
Android users will have a choice of Flash in browser, Flash written apps in app store, and non-Flash Apps, iPhone and iPad users will only have choice of non-Flash apps. If Flash on phones doesn't take off, Android users still got their Android apps, if it does take off, iPhone users still won't have an option of running it.

uhh you never have to upgrade an Apple device to get an .X update. Hell my 1st gen iPhone lasted from OS 1 to 3.1.3, I know people with Androids they bought 5 months ago who are assed out because they can't even get the 2.x update. That's a huge fail lol.

An almost 4 year product support life is quite a bit better than the few months Android is on. But who knows, maybe you won't have to buy a new phone to go from 2.2 to 2.3

Yeah Snow Leopard is trash because Adobe can't program worth shit. I can play L4D2 at the same FPS I get on Windows 7. I can also edit HD video and encode it fast as shit. The problem isn't OSX it's Adobe. Nothing else runs poorly on my Hackintosh except their Flash plugin, nothing.
