So you need religion to feed the hungry?
Scary...

Where the fuck did I ever say that?

Jeff7 posted about an atrocious murder that was committed in the name of Christianity. I can only assume he did so to point out evils of the religion, of which I will agree there are many notable historical accounts of. In response I posted about something the Christians in my own community are doing, because I think there are many more good deeds they do that people opposed to religion like to overlook.

Thanks for skewing my comment into something completely different. In the future, if you can't debate like a big boy maybe you should go sit at the kiddie table and keep quiet.

And the church down the street from my house holds a free community meal twice a week for anyone who is hungry. No sermon, just a quick prayer and then everyone eats regardless of their personal beliefs.

Which of the two activities do you think more of today's Christians would advocate?
Hopefully the eating thing.
Of course, God's ideals are theoretically unchanging, so it shouldn't really matter much when the (mis)behavior occurs in our history. When compared against a static moral code, it just doesn't matter.
(And of course, God believes in punishing subsequent generations for errors of previous generations. I'm glad our justice system doesn't follow that.
Or at least, sometimes he does...he can't even seem to make up his mind about that simple matter. Oh Bible, you so crazy.:D)

i feel like the lady and the beard needs to be the focus of this thread. who is with me?

You should look again.
And it's not even the only pagan feast they stole.
Here in Scandinavia we don't celebrate "christmas" (Christ mass).

We use all of the pagan rituals (presents, ornamented tree, food ect.) and still use the pagan name for it: Jul (Yule)

Now you try and look into where eastereggs, the easterbunny ect.) really come from,

No. Look again. Christians celebrated the resurrection long before anybody called it Easter.
Btw- you give atheists a bad name.

They didn't celebrate it on the last Sunday of April, though, until they found a Pegan holiday to "overwrite" with their stupid Christian bullshit. That's what happened with Christmas, too, and that's his point.
