OK?
What you just said made no sense and has no evidence.
Which seems to be norm for arguments around here.
I wouldn't worry about it.
I didn't say anything negative about you or question your reasons for carrying guns.
All I said is that I feel pretty safe in my area in response to MtnMans comment.
I don't need evidence for that.
I'm not going to worry about your responses or interpretation.
My comments that set you off.
I live in NY
I have never worried about the things you describe. Not even when I lived in "bad neighborhoods " (aka poor neighborhoods with minorities).
However I got a glow about me.
The culture\society I live in is very different then where you live.
In my county, violent crime is not an issue people really have to deal with too often.
I do not have any of your concerns or fears nor have I experienced or seen data that would lead to me to feel the way you do.
Every population is going to have a crime rate. Every google search is going to turn up a crime in area square foot of the country.
Where I live, crime is low and violent crime is not a major concern here like it is where you live.
When I travel throughout NY, including NYC I don't carry the same fear that you do.
No one carries guns in my county. No one cares except the whackjobs on the local gun forum and facebook groups.
I asked you for details because I was curious why you felt the need. If you are bothered that I don't feel the same way about where I live than the way you feel about where you live that's on you. Not me.
I at least know that where you live in North Carolina is not a place I would ever want to live and you shared specifics.
If you were to move next door me, I'm pretty confident that your gun would end up in the same place that a lot of other gun owners in the area do. In some random closet, gathering dust.
Your point = "Everyone needs a gun because scenarios"
That comment was me taking the bait for some stupid forum argument.
You are letting your trauma or whatever it is you go through on a daily basis control how you read someone post that they feel safe where they live and don't have the troubles that you do.
I can understand why MtnMan feels the way he does and not once did I argue about his decision making.
Same thing goes for you.
If you refuse to hear what I say about my circumstances then that's your problem. Not mine.
Honestly, if you want to claim that those comments make no sense to you and get you all worked up then I'm going to have to write it off.
Perhaps you can find some like minded individuals to agree with you and have a bit of a circle jerk over it until the next mid thread topic change.
Sounds like you have some baggage on this topic and everyone is entitled to a little life luggage.
Nothing you are anyone else is going to say on this forum that will change the way I feel about my safety in my own community.
I have not said anything to anyone challenging the way they feel in theirs.
I'm not bothered if you don't understand what I'm trying to say in this post or if this post upsets you nor do I care if a circle jerk forms to back you up.
