And So It Begins - The Freezing Rain

That big ass storm that dumped snow in Texas is on its way here.

The rain has changed to freezing rain mixed with sleet.

Later on tonight it changes to snow and we're supposed to get 10 - 20 cm of it.

I hope spring comes soon.
 
Not too bad in the GTA yet but tomorrow morning is supposed to be a mess. I'm not looking forward to it. Going to be a busy afternoon at work.

The mess starts here sometime tonight.

right now its nasty from the freezing rain.

I am glad I am safe and sound at home and that I'm not going anywhere tomorrow.
 
It looks like this one isn't going to be bad for us, local news coverage is only calling for an inch or 2 for my area.
 
I had to come in to school for a webinar thing at 8pm. Right after I got here, there was a car accident near the school on the slippery roads. It seemed okay to drive on, barely. Walking was more of a shuffle to get to the doors. I figure if I wait another 15 minutes, the roads should be okay to drive on.
 
Was snowing sideways on my drive home. Roads getting to be a soupy mess. People still driving like asshats though. I really should invest in a body shop.
 
Last I saw they had really downgraded the forecast for this area from a lot of snow to primarily rain with a bit of snow mixed in. We are getting the heavy wet stuff right now about 50km southwest of London. Curious to see the drive in tomorrow down the 401.
 
Nasty. You guys in the south seem to often get the nasty wet stuff. At least by the time it hits Northern Ontario it's just another snow fall. No announcements here though, this one is probably not coming this way.

yeah, its hard to say what we're going to get.

all I know is that it's snowing sideways. That's never a good sign.

Actually south of Canada stays pretty warm. Hence, rain. Has to be above zero for that. Well when it's freezing rain then it's kinda hovering a bit below, but close enough. 😛 That's a combo for more nasty weather though...

Up north we usually don't get the wet stuff, mostly the fluffy snow.

this wet snow is nasty.

been snowing all night and this morning. supposed to taper off soon.

it's quite messy outside here. good thing I am staying home.
