I'll reiterate:

1) He probably wasn't aiming for the head.

2) He fired 2 shots, and only hit once. (this means he isn't a perfect shot!)

well then he shouldent have shot in the first place. last time i checked cops had to be endanger themselfs before engaging a suspect. he should have just chased him.

nope, you can shoot to prevent the escape of a fleeing felon that you believe will pose an imminent threat to others

Go and re-read the law, very carefully, and then come back and shoot your mouth off.

Next time a thug takes a hostage we will tell the police sniper not to shoot because hes not in danger.

It's a shame this suspect got killed. However, had he surrendered rather than running away he would not have been shot.

The suspect brought this entirely on himself through his own actions. He was very stupid. If the suspect had surrendered he probably would not have gotten much jail time if I read the article correctly.

Personally, I hope that the police department is sued and they have to pay a big settlement. I don't think they can justify the shooting.

personally, i hope somebody mugs you the next time you try to withdraw money from an atm

i don't see how you can't justify it... there have been reports of armed robberies all over the place, and he happens to see this happening. if you let him go, there is a pretty good chance the criminal will pose a threat to others. so, you shoot.

Would you feel the same way if you were the victim of the suspect.

yes, since we should just let criminals run around with guns and robbing people

so what do you think, should the police only be able to apprehend people by tackling them? hmm maybe i should just go commit a bunch of crimes, and whenever the police come for me i'll just run away because i'm pretty fast.

You can only tackle them if you give them kneepads first, we don't want any skinned knees.

The police didn't see that the man was unarmed? Weren't they staking out this place? The man was running away from the police officer meaning the suspect was shot in the back of the head. Who is to say what really went down? I'm not going to post anymore on this subject, because it is usless to argue over something that is done with. If I remember from correctly my crimonology professor said that an officer of the law can not use deadly force unless his or her life is in jepardy. I think the shooting was a mistake.

either you remember incorrectly or your professor was wrong. read earlier posts regarding when deadly force can be used.

what the hell is wrong with you people here. Your a bunch of sissies.

In last night's holdup, officers saw two men approach a man who was using the ATM, police said. One of the young men, wearing a ski mask, grabbed the customer, slammed his face against the wall and stuck what looked like a chrome pistol in the man's back.

Im sorry, but if im a cop and see this, and know that im not catching that dangerous person who you KNOW will repeat the crime because he already has, hes gettin his ass shot.

And I have a good shot. I wouldn't have missed. He woulda got 2 to the head

And by the way... i dont think the victims just pretended to get smashed into a wall, or made up a gun for the fun of it.
