Well it says it was at night = it was dark +
throw in one Spray gun that has a similar shape as a gun, especially at night
= cop looking at a guy who looks like he's holding a gun and possibly pointing it at him.
So who's at fault here, the guy defacing property, or the cop that thinks the man is pointing a gun at him?
gimme a break...

edit: one thing though, why can't they just use rubber bullets? Then you can shoot the guy without really being worried about killing him or anything.

Yes, it most certainly is.
Now, would you be so kind as to give us your most enlightened view on this case?

the guy was running away it seems, not pointing a spray gun at the cop

i think they don't do that because if the officer needed real bullets he wouldn't have time to unload his gun and put in the real ones.

hahaha... unspoken words being "... so we can flame you" ;)

opinions are nice, but facts are facts... here is the seattle police dept officer's handbook:

http://www.cityofseattle.net/police/Publications/SPD%20Manualv1_1.pdf

look on page 107

yea there probably will be a sh1tstorm, especially since the guy was black, and god knows every time something like this happens to a black guy there's hell to pay. last time there was a perceived incident of "police brutality", the local black community boycotted and protested in front of a starbucks... never mind that starbucks is a company that has given tons of money to the black community and absolutely NOTHING to do with the incident. yea, that made sense.

Yeah, that is what I'm thinking. I didn't mean to sound lke I hate cops or anything. It's just I hate to see anybody get killed. And if someone does get killed there needs to be theorugh (sp) investigation of the incident.

It must be nice to be a criminal nowadays you can walk up to somebody slam his face into a wall threaten his life and demand money and you still get people to feel sorry for you when you pay the price for your idiotic actions.

While I am one that usually look at itams like this with a critical eye, the story seems to confirm that the force used was appropiate. "A fleeing felon who represents a continuing threat to the community may be apprehended by using deadly force," Kimerer said. "What we were dealing with was a violent, predatory criminal who didn't care who his next victim was." Given the above statement, assuming that it is true, what is wrong with what happened? The story also said that the person hadn't died (as of this morning) so he may get to stand trail after all.

I prefer to see criminals arrested, charged, tried by a jury of peers, and convicted in a court of law.

I don't... It just means more money in taxes to throw the idiot in jail.

a statement like that is more threatening to our freedom than an ATM robber.
