Ancient Aliens on History Channel

I watched a couple episodes of the show for the first time on History last night. I have to say the show is utterly ridiculous! They make so many assertions without any sound arguments.

For example, they showed an underground city in Turkey and quickly made the assertion that it's because people built it to try to hide from aliens that are trying to bomb them from the sky.

They also discussed the megalithic structures of the ancient times and made the assertion that since it would be really difficult for people to lift the huge stones those people must have some anti-gravity device given by the aliens to move the stones. Come on!

I was kind of interested about the topic but after watching the show I am turned off by the way they presented the 'evidence'.

The history channel is probably 75% conspiracy bullshit by now. They should just go back to war documentaries.

Agreed.

I can't stand that they can even use "History" in their name.
I still watch History International, though.

They definitely go over the top with some of the stuff. Alot of the subjects are interesting and thought provoking.

I just don't like when they bring on the ' experts ' who start talking about subjects as if they're absolute fact.

Just like religion.

But it's still worth watching for some of the stuff they show and talk about. It's very interesting that there are civilizations that have been underwater for thousands of years.

Ancient astronaut theory is more plausible than a bearded guy named jesus being born to a virgin mother and going on to perform miracles and rise from the dead... all told from a text that has never been completely translated and has been heavily edited.

I thought it was going to be a cool show, and I actually enjoyed the Underwater Ruins episode.. but the rest I've seen is absolutely terrible. I watched 10 minutes of the last episode before I just couldn't take it.

Alien Tech.

Ark of the Covenant + Sound Horns = Fall Of Jericho. :\

Yep, as soon as they started talking about the legitimate plausibility of the horns being powered up by alien energy from the Ark and razing the walls of Jericho I just couldn't take it any longer.

What, this guy doesn't seem like a trustworthy source of information to you?

Have to sort through the BS on it. Some of it is really interesting, but sometimes they make so many assumptions and assertions that you're just left scratching your head.

The Nazi ep was interesting, I thought. But Command and Conquer may have corrupted my sense of WW2 technology. 😉

This was my take on it in this thread

Aliens were living with close contact with humans some 8k to 5k years ago, they mainly lived in space ships outside the upper atmosphere. There were probably two or more groups who occasionally fought with each other. They could not come and live on earth for probably environmental reasons. They somehow mastered the tech of incarnation and came down here as humans and other animals.
They shared their knowledge and intelligence with humans. They wanted to give a lot more to humans but were frustrated with our limited intelligence. So they became fascinated with the idea of imprinting this planet with their DNA and artificially impregnated some women around the world from time to time. Eventually the decided to do a complete overhaul of the whole human species and created Noah and asked him to collect DNA of all animals, destroyed all living beings by drowning them. Eventually Noah and his wifey started a new, alien DNA mixed version of human species and they restored the animals as they were before.
They probably did this overhaul coz they had to leave, go back to their home planet and they knew they wont be able to come back till the next solar system alignment in 2012, but they wanted us to eventually become as intelligent as them.

They've had a few professors from Universities and some historians.

True, but if you notice a lot of the professors are PhD scientists who are simply talking on a point of how the physics of sound work, for example, and not really about the legitimacy of any relation to alien technology.

OP ... totally agree. This show is just the latest in a LONG line of attempts to make a buck off of less-than-reputable data, assertions and guesswork. Remember "Chariots of the Gods"? What about the Bermuda Triangle "theories" that started in the 60s-70s?

Funny names of this so called "experts". At least the 2nd guy has a Ph.D. and was an astronaut in the Space Shuttle. 😀

Yeah. I thought it was the All-War-And Hitler-All-The-Time-Channel? Killed my TV watching years ago tho. Guess I'm not missing anything.

It was cheap entertainment and you did have to sift through the BS, but some of the theories could be possible. Who knows.

Wake me up when it's time to battle the reptiles.

Nordics, reach out and touch someone. "We are opposed to cunning and deceit" if you catch my drift.
