Might be helpful to also add the list of cars in the first post so people don't have to search/accidentally bump the other thread.

Quick question. Can you add the chassis stiffening modification? It doesn't go against the increase HP or decrease weight rule.

I'll get you added, and appreciate the suggestion of moving the car list.

Sure, chassis stiffening is allowed. Do you feel it helps anything? I'm just curious, I could never really determine if it was even doing anything. I still buy it now and then, but only for production cars, not on race cars.

The chassis stiffening may just be a psychological thing. I'll have to test it out tonight. I know Laguna pretty well and haven't touched my Cusco Imprezza yet so I'll probably see how well I do for 10 laps with out it and then with it.

That's great..... I'll be very interested in the results... never took the time to really test it. I'll be on tonight practicing.... may try to find you.

Announcement.... I'm looking for someone who has very good internet connection and gets NAT 1 or 2 on PS3 to host the race !

My connections sucks and I'm afraid it's not reliable enough to host a race like this. If anyone has good reliable connection and can host the race, or races..... please let me know.

It really doesn't take much speed, just a reliable connection. I was in a race last Sunday in the other league I race in, I was half a lap ahead of second place car with 7 laps to go in a 35 lap race and lost my connection :oops:

I'm going to try fixing my problem tonight by bridging my modem and letting the router handle everything.

I may get with you sometime this week and we can do a test run or something to see what we can come up with.

next time you see me on just send me a msg or whatever. We can try it out. Im more than willing to host as long as my slow-ish upload doesnt hurt anything

So the class of cars are selected. We can make any modifications we want as long as it is not horsepower or weight reduction. i.e. suspension, tires, etc Correct?

PSN = WaldoJ
XBL = Waldo J

Yes, since these are race cars, they allready have the good suspension, trans, etc.. You are free to tune away :biggrin: You can run any tire you want..... just be sure the ones you choose will run enough laps ;)

Has everyone been practicing online? Care to share what kind of times you are getting?

I really advise practising online, just go into your lobby and create a room, tire wear and traction are different online.

I practiced a little last week. When running race soft tires, I think it was getting constant 1:31 laps.

I have been playing with 3 different cars, the best one so far is getting consistant 1:28's on soft tires, I'm pretty sure I'll run mediums for the race, I really doubt softs will hold up for 15 laps.

BTW; I gained quite a bit by setting the top speed in the trans settings, set it so it's close to max rpm in high gear at the end of the longest straight. I think mine is set for 168mph, or very close to that.

Pushing as hard as possible I managed to squeak a 1:26 on soft. From what I can tell i think softs might actually work for the entire race as long as you can keep the backs under control. I ran the Laguna Seca endurance race using the GT 300 car (great practice..) and i managed to get 22 laps out of a set of soft tires. Not sure how that will translate to online though

Holy sh*t 1:16 on a stock gt300 car? :eek:

I'm doing 1:28s offline so I guess that would put me in the 1:30s online. :hmm:

I could easily do 1:16 short cutting that course. It has to be the easiest one in the game to drift each corner at full speed through the grass.

I'm getting a new connection installed tomorrow. I can also host if necessary...I'm in Canada though.
