Here's a few pics of a reasonably low-cost Corsair 650D computer build I did recently.

I'm quite pleased with it as a lot of the tech inside is quite old and has been recycled from an old system. Still, it looks pretty decent and performs well.

It isn't cutting edge, but it is clean and tidy, functional, and serves my needs.

^^ This picture shows two things: (1) the Corsair 650D's stock fan controller cables, which have not been used and have been bunched/collected here, (2) the cables going to the used Lamptron FC5 V2 fan controller (3 x fan cables [coming from the left] + 1 x Molex power cable [coming from the right]).

^^ This picture shows how the stock PSU cables can be "pre-shaped" into a decent/useful shape before adding cable ties and/or before being added into the system.

Very clean, well done.

Project "Move to new case" (Arc Midi 2) turned out alright. A new PSU (Seasonic G Series) with longer/modular cables and the cable management of this new case made it pretty easy!
This is only my 2nd build, and the first where I bothered with cable management, so any tips on improvement are appreciated.

Hardware:
GA-Z68AP-D3
i5 2500k with CM 212 Evo
Gigabyte WF 670
Seasonic G Series 550
1st HDD : WD10EZEX
2nd HDD : Samsung 500GB HDD

Those PCI-E cables are such an eye-sore.. Next time I'm getting a graphics card with the connectors on the end of it!

Thanks! I don't have quite the same colour consistency you do, and it's a mess behind the motherboard backplate (cables on my PSU aren't long enough to route them as neatly as you have done), but the numer one concern is airflow, which is definitely unimpeded by cables now.

god I wish I got good camera like you guys LOL, my phone's camera is crap.. don't wanna post since It would look like heck xD

Just downgraded (sidegraded?) from a phenom II thuban x6 @3.5GHz 16GB DDR3 1600 to Q9650 @stock (for now) 8GB DDR2 because the power usage was 380W out of the wall when prime+furmark and my AC cannot keep up in the summer, the c2q is 170-200w out of the wall with the same parts.

I also cut out the previously 80mm rear case fan hole to 120mm and put in my trusty 5 year old scythe S-FLEX SFDB SFF21F 150,000 hour MTBF (and they mean it, still looks new) fan. Dremel + clamp + particle board + drywall roto zip bit = plastic liquifying cutting, no cracks not even close to one, a bit of dremel drum sanding finished it off.

Soon I will put the old 120MM evga tower heatsink onto this c2q and see what I can get out of default voltage. I got the cpu, believe it or not, in the local goodwill for $50.

Wow - Just signed up after seeing this topic. I thought my case was tidy (first proper build I've done), but I've been quickly put to shame.

I'd love any tips on keeping it clean. Part of me is always worried when messing with the cables that I'm going to end up shorting something (at one point I was worried about the cooler cable almost touching the RAM stick, but realised that was silly). I'm then worried about having the cables too tight, and just being unsure where to put them!

It seems I wasn't liberal enough on the cable ties.

For the record, my specs are:

CPU - Intel Core i5 4670K @ 3.40GHz
CPU Cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
Motherboard - Gigabyte Z87X-D3H-CF
Graphics Card - Gigabyte Windforce 3X GeForce GTX 770
RAM - Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB 1600MHz
SSD - 128GB M4-CT128M4SSD2
HDD - 2TB SAMSUNG HD204UI
HDD - 1TB SAMSUNG HD103SJ
PSU - XFX Pro Series 750W XXX Edition Bronze
Case - Fractal R4

Very nice, although I expect you'll want to adjust the date on your camera. Are you sure your handle isn't Hal Jordan?

The new Corsair Carbide Air 540. Case is pretty neat overall, but not without it's sacrifices. I couldn't fit my XSPC RX360 Radiator up front with the Titan. So I had to opt to move to a RX240 up top.

Also going to a larger hose size forced me to remove some ramsticks. Guess I will be purchasing a larger 2 stick set.

@FTI are those the Cougar blue LED case fans? If so, what do you think of them? How's the noise level and air flow? I'm considering getting some for my build.
