Metallica is a group pansy ass greasy short haired sellouts who once made genuinely creative and highly technical music, but has since stooped to formula songs that sell a lot of discs but are boring as hell. Plus they alienate their fans by suing Napster. I wouldn't give a damn if Lars et al dropped off the face of the earth tomorrow, as long as I still have Master of Puppets in my CD changer.

Load and Reload are crap. I tried listening to them, I gave up midway through due to the sheer monotony of the songs. A few catchy riffs but nothing of real substance. Mid speed guitars, mid speed drums, and simplistic "verse chorus verse" song structures. Yeah, that's what I wanna spend my 15 bucks for a CD on. No wonder Metallica is pissed at Napster, everybody is downloading the songs cuz they SUCK and aren't willing to pay 15 bucks for such mass market musical monotony.
 
Damn straight I'm into speed metal, death metal, black metal, thrash metal, grindcore, noisecore, and hardcore. And Metallica falls into NONE of those categories, or any category that I give a damn about.
 
choad munch, you don't have to poison us all with your lousy taste in music. Anything that's "thrash" doesn't have much musical talent anyway. Study the history of Rock&Roll. Learn something of value before you spew that god-awful cloud out your orifice.
 
You're telling me Slayer doesn't have any musical talent. Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman put Hetfield and Hammett to SHAME technically. Faster, tighter, more aggressive. Same goes for Dave Lombardo. Reign in Blood is THE definitive thrash metal album, and anyone who knows ANYTHING about REAL metal would put it in the top 5 or so most influential metal albums of all time. Raining Blood is a masterpiece.

That's just one band. Suffice to say I could sit here all night naming bands that are technically more skilled than Metallica. Before you insult thrash, learn a little about it instead of spewing your ignorant nonsense out of your orifices. I've listened to Metallica. You haven't listened to good quality thrash or death, and that is where we differ. I've heard both sides. You haven't. You can take your precious "Load" of sh|t, I'll keep my death metal any day.
