I've noticed the Radeon 8500 price go down to about 170 for an OEM + shipping. I think the probably future for all cards is to drop but do you think the price might go up if it starts selling like mad after beating a Ti500?

I also know exactly when I'll be upgrading my system... Whenever a game comes out that I love and can't play well enough. 🙂

That is why most people buy graphics cards right? To play demanding first person shooters? Or do people buy and upgrade for bragging rights and 3dmarks. It's always tempting for me to buy a new card, but then I realize I don't have any games I can't play.

However, I think that I might want to upgrade once I start using my new 19" monitor which should be here in a few days. I hope this one won't produce "always black" pixels like my 15" viewmate POS. I had to trust Cnet's reviewon the Cornerstone P1450. The P1460 I bought is pretty much the same monitor that has 1600x1200 @85hz.

Anyways, if I had to choose I'll probably go radeon for the bang per buck and potential. Either that or wait to see how the GF4 does in comparison to the current lineup.

"once again, no harm was intended, just having a bit of fun"

No worries everyone, I was just in a bad mood yesterday.
