the longer i think the more likely i think its AMD.

Remember the mysterious comments yesterday regarding "non disclosed" things cooking at AMD "...for some people it will be like the discovery of the black monolith in 2001: a space odyssey" ?

Silicon Valley ---> SF ??? ---> AMD ??

They showed "something" at the WinHEC...and now it's Anands turn to see what's cooking ?

I would guess it might have to do something with Creative Labs buying 100% of 3D Labs for $103.7 million in cash and stocks. The new 3D Labs chip is said to process over 1 trillion operations/sec. It will probably be a very nice demo.

Creative Labs is in Milpitas, CA, just a short drive from San Francisco.
3D Labs is in the same area at Sunnyvale, CA.

Maybe he's meeting Matrox at Trident's place for a smackdown over who gets to be the worst video chip manufacturer... Like the Crash Bandicoot/Sony commercials at Nintendo of America's parking lot 😀 Prediction: Matrox looses because someone uncovers Parhelia
 
do you have any clue how many tech companies are in that area? i mean, it could be charles schwab himself showing anand how big his portfolio has gotten! sheesh!
 
He'll be looking at somthing from AMD, they have had many conventions in Frisco, I'm in the City all the time!. With all this special AMD buzz going around i would be amazed if it wasn't AMD.
 
Hey flexy, didn't Tom make a comment about AMD and the monolith thing? I also saw on THG a mention of the MSI booth at WinHEC, and something we weren't supposed to see? It was on display in MSI's booth, yet no one was talking? What's that all about?

Someone else said Matrox. I looked up their corporate headquarters BEFORE I posted that. That's why I said "at Trident's place" because Matrox is not even in the same country... Same as the Sony/Nintendo thing...
