an OS question.. need an answer fast.

i guess not. so basically, by support you mean, would it use both the processors or work at all with dual processors?
 
thanks.. I had a bet with a friend.. who said it didnt.. but I wasnt sure.

I knew they got rid of the command.com and the dos shell below windows.. and used a W2K kernal.. but I dindt know if it was a full W2K kernal.
 
its not the win2k kernel, I thought? but essentially windows 98 third edition. :Q

still doesn't handly memory like NT, but still like windows 95, right?


 
Windows ME still uses the same old win 95/98 kernel. It doesn't use the win2k kernel, i don't think.. Windows Whistler will be the one based on win2k kernel.
 
if its a 95/98 kernal.. they there shouldnt be support for SMP right (unless they rewrote the kernal all the way)

I knew about Whistler... but I thought that Me was based on it too.

Anyways, ME is based on 9x kernal which does not support SMP/Dual-Processors. Only NT kernal does and Whistler too.
 
And you guys call yourselves computer geekz?????

Of course ME does not support SMP. Being based on the 9x kernel, it does not and never will support SMP. Although many other OS's do, NT, 2K, *NIX, Solaris, IRIX, etc.
