me too. I would not like it if someone calls me Oriental.
But back in the days in the U.S., oriental was used in a derogatory way...ie separation of races like "oriental schools."

I don't like being called Oriental because TO ME I AM NOT ORIENTAL. I AM on the broader sense -- ASIAN AMERICAN, but more precisely VIETNAMSE. I just don't like that term (oriental) being referred to me.
