An important message from a LINUX user

You know, the one thing I love about Linux users is that they pidgeonhole themselves into a place where they'll never get a job in a computer-related field because they won't touch Windows or anything that remotely smells of Microsoft.

And I've personally looked at the baseline Linux kernel source code - and I *WILL NOT* use that operating system after the experience.

What a waste of resources.

When you're running a hyperthreaded dual core P4 at 3.6GHz and a GPU that's almost as fast, I don't think it's really gonna friggin matter.

Well, its nice if your/my gaming rig can handle it pretty good, but what about the rest of the users that don't have a gaming rig from outer sapce.

So don't use Longhorn 😕

He could get the Vista beta for free if he applies... Active participation usually translates into a licensed copy (read you get an activation code).

please don't lie to him about gaming support for linux. linux sucks for games.
i work with linux systems all the time and i refuse to run cedega(wine) to play games that'll run at 1/4 speed of what it does in windows xp. on the otherhand, linux r0x for everything else... not multimedia related. ;p

What !!! you think you are insulting me or something? I dont give 2 $hits what you use it doesn't benefit nor harm me, it's a matter of personal choice and I respect that. That is why I have this thread in the off topic because I don't have any intentions of going technical nor transforming this thread into another " Why you should convert to Linux/ Linux vs Windows Article" to the already existing quadrillion articles and blogs out there.

haha insulting you? Start drinking decaf, kid.
You're the one freaking out about bill gates and whatver other bs you think someone is stealing from open source. I use unix about 95% of all time i spent using computers and Linux is about as unproductive as a desktop can get.

I'm willing to bet you're a teenbopper kid that loaded up mandrake on your pc and now you think you're "1337" because you go around blabbering how linux is great and how bill gates is the antichrist. Grow the fvck up

Chris Jones is fckin lying

Chris Jones : You will not get spyware and malware on your computer anymore.

Interviewer : Why not?

Chris Jones : Because we have great Anti-Malware/Spyware support built into the system!!!

The Linuxator : ; turns off BS alarm; -------------> at this instant the need for a rant on AT was absolute.

its the same BS over and over , at least I will not pay a cent if I did't like what I am getting from Linux.

Will you please shut up. As a linux user myself...you are a moron. Nothing is more secure than anything else unless you unplug it from the internet and reduce the userbase to 1 person. If linux where as popular as windows, everyone would b!tch about how crappy the security is on linux. Look at the IE, Firefox battle. Everyone complained about IE and said how great and secure Firefox is. Before Firefox was popular there where almost NO security updates. Now that it's semi-popular, geeeee lots and lots of security releases. Yes, Firefox is still better, but they still don't have much market share compared to IE. The same thing will happen linux if the day ever comes when it is more popular.

And as you claim, if MS is stealing from Apple, then they will get sued. If their are similarities, big f'in deal. I want you to write a program and come up with completely original ideas every time.

NO YOU STFU, I just had enough $hit form devolopers promising BS to the average user, and hey if Linux becomes as popular as windows, it's not the same BS , windows is weak by archecticture not by being exposed to popularity, they started realsing that everytime they get some hot competetion from opensource, and thats why they started preventing the users from becoming Admin of the local system just like that an example of hot piping competetion would be firefox, and yes in programming you can come up with ideas and thats why patents still exist its because there are still people out there that are not cloners, so what would you say about firefox, IE 7 was a failed clone, they didnt even bother coming up with ideas for years.
They just sat down waited for the mozilla guys to finish up the work, and just copied down.
So a bunch of developers with a public support make firefox the ultimate webbrowser yet, but MICRO$OFT the biggest software corporation in the world didn't even move a finger untill they felt that FF might be be burning them aive.
That my friend is called fighting the greedy a$$holes you watch raping ppls privacy, by spying on them,, and the right to get your money's worth out of software, not get kicked around by instabilities, and having to patch my OS like tire that fell over a box of nails.

So here is what I have to say to Bill G8ates :

EAT PENGUIN $HIT AND DIIIIIIE YOU A$$ SPELUNKER !!!!!!!!

EDIT: That A hole even added the Linux root functionality & Apple's transperancy+ others to windows Vista , and they claim it to be an awsome innovative feature WOW indeed I am amazed

Apple's transparency?!? Transparent windows were an invent of OSX? WTF are you talking about when you say "linux root functionality"?

There are functions/features common to all OSes, it's not a big fvcking deal when one OS sees a good idea an implements their version. If they didn't do this we'd all be using CLI except for the one OS that invented GUI.

It's not fvcking plagiarism. The fact you used that term to describe this issue only lends credit to the fact that your a complete moron.

Sadly, it's folks like yourself (TheLinuxator) which give Linux a bad name. Folks who act like that are thought of as fanatics. Would I want to switch to Linux after reading a thread like this? It certainly wouldn't help. Fortunately, I'm already using Linux/Unix (both) at work and at home. But I would NEVER go out on a rampage like that. In the business world (something which I believe you will discover in a few years, or so I hope) you'll end up learning that you use the right tool for the right job. If that means using Windows for certain things, then so be it. If you use Linux for certain things, then so be it. I'm currently using FreeBSD as my desktop at work. Was it because I wanted to? yes. Was it needed? Certainly makes my life easier to compile C code. Do I need Windows? yes. I remote desktop connect (using rdesktop, very useful application) to windows servers to do work on there or look stuff up). Can I live without Windows? no. Can I live without Unix, no.

Have you taken the time from your daily diet of linux fanboi-ism and maybe thought this was new and revolutionary for Windows? Did he say anywhere that Microsoft created transparency and hold the patent OMG 0MNI-P0T3nt p0w3rz zomg!!!!!!?

People like you are what is wrong with linux and gives it a bad rep. While I am not a die-hard/power linux user, I am by no means a computer n00b. I have tried various versions of linux and as of right now its a pain in the butt. How about instead of moaning and groaning over some insignificant words, you go and fix the problems facing linux....

BTW your important msg is about as important as letting people know you took a crap and you feel 5lbs lighter...guess what nobody gives a good two craps...

I am not talking about you linuxator, because you don't seem like this type.

but to those people who always say "har har windows suxs and linux rocks" without giving reason pisses me off. I've tried both, and I like windows more, just because its easier, and more programs run on it. My laptop still runs linux though.

Um... Anyone here thought of a dual boot? Windows for games, Linux for everything else.

I did dual-boot just for the reasons of still having windows and being able to get into linux. I did anything I was *ABLE* to get installed on linux and whatever I couldnt do I did in windows while I tried to figure out how to go about doing it in linux. Sadly one day I ran out of HD space on my windows partition and formatted my linux partition so I could use it. Three cheers for my new 250GB w00t

I posted this in offtopic for a reason, If I wanted a flame/Insults war I would have went somewhere else .

I was just pissed at this developer's statement about malware and spyware as mentioned above, that I

felt the need for a rant nothin big, wasn't expecting a total reaction for the penguin $hit statement.

But I ended up with all this wow. thx guys, keep it coming

If you had just posted the devs comments, this thread would have gone a whole 'nother direction. Those comments are about as transparent as the new GUI.
