What !!! you think you are insulting me or something? I dont give 2 $hits what you use it doesn't benefit nor harm me, it's a matter of personal choice and I respect that. That is why I have this thread in the off topic because I don't have any intentions of going technical nor transforming this thread into another " Why you should convert to Linux/ Linux vs Windows Article" to the already existing quadrillion articles and blogs out there.

If you "don't give 2 $hits what he uses", then why would you be insulted if he think the Linux desktop support is horrible?

You're blowing off something, but it's not steam. I think you have Linus Torvald's penetration testing tool in your mouth.... 😀

OK all, don't start switching your heads into debate mode now, It's just that as I was watching the video interview with Chris Jones , an influential member in the microsft OS development team, at that instance when he switched to his Windows Vista Machine and the desktop came on the screen, and he started showing the so amazing features in it, that my BS detector went completely off.

One word for you:

So?

Does it really, seriously matter? Does it affect your life, your goals, health, relationships? Nope.

Is that coming from a person that is pentrated by a gazillion of Bill G8tes patches 24/7.

So is there a feature of Linux that was original, or is it all mimiced from other OSs?

I use both, like both, and dont get why Linux users feel superior.

SO, I don't feel superior , no.

I use both too and can't live without both at the current time. I don't need to bother with gaming on linux since I have WinXP , but once uncle Bill says no more gaming except on VIsta which is a longtime from now, I will say goodbye.

haha insulting you? Start drinking decaf, kid.
You're the one freaking out about bill gates and whatver other bs that makes you think someone is stealing from open source. I use unix about 95% of all time i spent using computers and Linux is about as unproductive as a desktop can get.

I'm willing to bet you're a teenbopper kid that loaded up mandrake on your pc and now you think you're "1337" because you go around blabbering how linux is great and how bill gates is the antichrist. Grow the fvck up

MY E-PENIS IS BIGGER THAN ANYONE ELSES IN THIS THREAD!!1!!!1!

ok I just wanted to get that off my chest and say it bluntly, since some people are trying to imply that theirs is the biggest.

Chris Jones : You will not get spyware and malware on your computer anymore.

Interviewer : Why not?

Chris Jones : Because we have great Anti-Malware/Spyware support built into the system!!!

The Linuxator : ; turns off BS alarm; -------------> at this instant the need for a rant on AT was absolute.

its the same BS over and over , at least I will not pay a cent if I did't like what I am getting from Linux.

What a waste of resources.

When you're running a hyperthreaded dual core P4 at 3.6GHz and a GPU that's almost as fast, I don't think it's really gonna friggin matter.

Well, its nice if your/my gaming rig can handle it pretty good, but what about the rest of the users that don't have a gaming rig from outer sapce.

well outside the fact that osx ran smooth on my 500mhz ibook with full opengl acceleration, absolutely nothing...
Not to mention that with the amount of hacks that X11 has right now to support the standard features (xinerama, smooth font rendering, off screen buffer), it's not gonna be any faster than system built from ground up to use vector based UI renering.
