An F-22 Raptor crashed today

ah good thing the pilot seems to be ok.

EDIT: bah i refresh again, and i'm no longer the first replier 🙁 I got ninja'ed once again

aliens are shooting us down!

If it crashed and the guy suvived, what's the survival rate in F-22s, and when can I choose it for my commercial flights? 😉

Crazy! I saw that smoke plume today and didn't even think much about it.....this is the first I heard about what it was.

Nothing is perfect, not even an airplane worth more than its weight in gold.

F-22 dry weight is approx 30,000 lbs x Gold price 441 dollars/ounce x 16 ounces/pound = $211,680,000.00

Is it really worth that much?!

Damn

Glad the Pilot is OK.

2nd one they have lost in a month and a half. Half Billion dollars gone just like that.

Well, occasionally wreck happen in the course of testing a plane. They were probably thowing it into out of control maneuvers to test recoverability, and couldn't recover in time.

1. Take peices of reckage
2. Get on Ebay
3. ............
4. Profit!!!
If you survived the toxic fumes that is...

But as the cost of the F/A-22 has swelled, estimates range from $130 million to $250 million each, the number of aircraft the Pentagon plans to buy has shrunk from 750 to about 300, according to the Government Accountability Office.

So apparently if you get the fully loaded hemi version it will cost more than its weight in gold. Ouch!
