An Apology from ThinkGeek

Hi all,

I found out a few hours ago about the ThinkGeek spam that was posted yesterday in the Hot Deals forum. I am embarrased to say that it did come from us, and for that we apologize. A marketing employee from our parent company posted the announcement in an effort to get exposure for a promotion we are running. It looks like she was unaware of the forum rules. We didn't authorize this post, and if we had known about it in advance, we would have stopped it from happening.

Please know that we are wholeheartedly against spam in any form. On behalf of the staff of ThinkGeek, I want to apologize to everybody that was ticked off at us. I hope you will consider shopping with us again. We're not bad people - I promise! :)

If you have any questions, comments, flames, whatever, please feel free to contact me directly at jenathinkgeekdotcom.

Thanks (and sorry!),
Jen Frazier
Co-Founder & Creative Director
ThinkGeek, Inc.

Thanks for accepting our apology! If I were authorized to give out 75,000 giftcards i might consider it, but for now my humble post will have to suffice. Oh, and sorry SgtZulu, I'm not single. :)

I looks like this flaw goes right up to the top level Co-Founder & Creative Director of ThinkGeek, Inc. It's a nice gesture, but it still does not comply with the hot deals forum guidelines. This is where you post HOT DEALS not where your company does damage control.

As you can see, Jen, this forum has it's share of tools as well as good people. Any hint of negativity in a thread, and they'll be popping in for their share of anonymous boldness.

Thanks for stopping by to apologize. We appreciate it. No guarantees on the shopping, unless the deals are hot and the service is exemplary.

Don't be fooled by the avitar. I'm not a forum cop and unless you're Vince Vaughn, you shouldn't call me baby. It's just not right for a man to call another man baby.

Maybe if you didn't act like a baby, you wouldn't get called baby, baby.

Damn, some people are relentless. I thought the scary kind of "law = morality" mentality was only for the movies, but now I can see it is based on reality.

Stop hating, and start thinking.

Well, you did pick the girl cop icon, so maybe you are depseratley trying to express a hidden need for man man love by tricking people into thinking you are a girl?

Not exactly the form of baby I was speaking of, but the irony of the statement you just made and then calling me a baby is stellar.

And I'm sure a guy calling himself johnbear is just the guy to give it to me right? Keep dreaming.
