9mm is on sale in town right now for 9.99 a box, it's been that way all month. Typically it's about 11.00 a box here.

Walmart just sucks with ammo pricing. The shortage is over with the exception of .380 can still be tricky to find. Major calibers 9mm, 40, and 45 are all commonly available, at least in the vast majority of places. There may be some areas where it's more scarce but none that I know of off hand. Best thing you can do is order in bulk online and be done with it. ammunitiontogo.com, ammoman.com. palmettostateamory.com, wideners.com among others. Those are just solid reliable sites off the top of my head.

Ammo price = f(n)
n = number of military actions USA is involved in.

as long as the military contracts are putting such big demands on brass and propellant supplies, the domestic manufacturers will see higher component cost.

It could get ugly in California. California going to require ID + thumbprint to buy ammo. Walmart might not sell ammo anymore in California, leaving the local sporting goods stores selling ammo. Local stores already selling 9mm at 16 bucks a box, makes walmart look cheap.

not only are we going to get the ID + fingerprint to buy ammo, we will have to pay an extra $3 for the "administrative fee" of keeping us on file.....EACH TIME WE BUY AMMO. One box or 20 boxes....add $3. Oh, and in california, starting feb 16th, we will no longer be allowed to order "handgun" ammo online anymore. No more mail order 9mm, nor .22.

In my area Walmart is always about $3 cheaper / box for 9mm

My local WAL*MART already stopped selling guns and ammunition 🙁

Holy shit that fee is absurd.

Can't stop the guns so they go after the ammo.

In New York, I think some places require a pistol license to buy pistol ammo but it may not be required by law. I'm sure you can't order ammo online and have it shipped to NY already.

Then again I don't have to worry about that because it's so fucking hard to even purchase a pistol even in my county in upstate.

The last time I made a purchase here in upstate South Carolina I had to wait almost fifteen minutes for the background check to process before they'd let me have my new pistol.

Ha! Collifornia Sucks.

You have the right to bear arms ... but we are going to make it real hard to do so. Fuckin pansies.

Dude, and it's a bitch trying to find them sometimes. I had to ask the stocking guy when they have new shipment in, then hound the place when they restock and buy as much as you can.

You gotta thank certain legislative people for that.

What's the timeframe on this happening? I'll need to stock up on some 12 ga for skeet...can't beat $4.67 a box! Looks like after it happens I may have to take some trips to Reno to stock up.

Wrong, I routinely order my ammo online, no problems. Retail supplies are good, but online ordering ensures you get the specific brand and type you want.

California is generally head up ass on firearms issues.

Yeah, i've never seen 380 ammo at any walmart, EVER. i usually get it at gander mountain etc, and its rare to find there sometimes lol. I just snap up a couple boxes at once, not like shooting 380 ammo is a blast anyway.

I'm in NC and have my CCW so the process is:

Walk in
point out gun I want
show CCW
sign paperwork
pay for gun
leave

The CA state bill is AB 962. Feb 2011. It specifies handgun ammo only, so you should be fine on the shells.

The idea of the bill is to prevent criminals from buying ammo for crimes. But we all know criminals don't follow the rules anyways and can get guns and ammo elsewhere.

At least the bill passed amended without the 50 round limit per MONTH. Now that would be cruel.
