Hey, whats your takes on this piece of crap- should he get the chiar, or life? Or for some of you weak stomached- should he go home to his mommy? I say-LET HIM BURN!
BURN!
BURN!
BURN!

Traitor. There is no room in this country for people who don't support the American way- FREEDOM.

i think life incarcerated without amenities is good,

amenities should be spared for those who could be rehabilitated

Its possibly this young man was brain washed, or otherwised indoctrined into radical Islam much like a cult follower. Apparently he has been studying under radical islam clerics since he was a teenager...

We need more information, but right now I can tell you that don't want to see this young man executed.

At first I thought damnit lets just burn him at the stake. But then I got to thinking, why does a normal American teen do this? A) Brainwashed or B) Just a horrible person. Anyway, lets not kill him. Lets keep him in solitary for a long time.

Question - If he was brainwashed, what would you do with him??

Allright, really- maybe not executed- but who in their right mind would turn against their own country? Granted, we all know that teenagers(for the most part) are moldable... and this kid, was taught and molded by the worst there are- but I totally disagree that someone, or anyone for that matter, could go against their instinct to stand up for freedom. -Especially since they were raised with freedom!
Brainwashing is a silly arguement and an easy cop-out. Try again.:D

"He(Walker) is alleged to have admitted to CIA interrogators before the uprising that he knew in advance about the 11 September attacks and was personally thanked by Osama Bin Laden for his support." - BBC Article

If they find the "alleged" info to be true, I don't give a fsck what they do to him. :|

I'm still confused, when did he join the Taliban?

Anyway, the name "American Taliban" is stupid.

I for one do not blame him for all of it. It is also the parents fault, they allowed the jerk to travel abroad and study.

We should not only kill him, but also his family.

Personal responsibility for one?s own actions. It seems to be a disappearing concept.

In my opinion you can only be 'brainwashed' if you are held under duress. If you choose to do something or listen to someone of you own free will then that is your choice and your responsibility.

Until someone can prove that he was held against his will and force fed that extremist BS then in my opinion he was not brainwashed.

if he was brainwashed, then he was brainwashed here, before he left for pakistan. his lawyers might argue that his conscious and deliberate decision to leave america was a result of a wierd family environment. his dad came out of the closet when johnnie was just beginning to sprout body hair and his whole conception of the world may have been irreparably harmed when his daddie decided to divorce his mom and move in with his guy lover. less has worked as
an effective defense and kept many a deserving cretin from their just rewards. so why can't it apply to taliban johnny ? his lawyers understand they going to
have to present him as a victim. they wont be arguing politics. perhaps if the jury were to see johnny as a victim at a younger and younger age his chances
for leniency and possible acquittal increase.

I think he shoudl be treated as any other Taliban/Al Qaeda fighter. It looks to me unnecessary to charge him with treason as an American citizen. He obviously renounced his citizenship when he lived and studied in Pakistan and joined the Taliban/Al Qaeda in Afghanistan.

Patty Hurst was kidnapped, beaten and violently raped. Her defense was that she was brainwashed. She was convicted.

How far do you think "Jihad Johnny" will get with this lame defense?
