As a nation, we're fat... and getting fatter. We're lazy... and getting lazier.
What's it going to take for this to change?
Parenting. But as the parents get fatter and lazier, they won't expect anything different from their kids. After all, why take your kids to the park to run around around when you yourself cannot do it.As a nation, we're fat... and getting fatter. We're lazy... and getting lazier.

My kids are fit. I hope they can become doctors and make money off all the fatties and their associated health problems.
But really don't blame the kids. Blame the parents who find it easier to buy a buck double at McD or two buy a new video game rather than pay attention to their kids.
And let's not forget this image is of a kid in a fat suit.
Is this just a stunt as a part of the new "progressive" anti-McDonald's agenda? They're targeting Ronald McDonald to get rid of him, they're targeting to ban toys in Happy Meals. Now they're putting out images of kids in fat suits?
Am I supposed to be outraged over a staged photo?

Good question. I am overweight as well, but am starting to get serious about getting the weight off.
I think it is a combination of factors -- obviously, there is a lot of unhealthy food around. But more importantly, I think kids are more sedentary today. When I was a kid in the late 70s and early 80s, I played video games but it wasn't a big part of my day. I'd ride my bike and play outside quite a bit. I can even remember being 12 or 13 and eating a couple of Big Macs for lunch (I was a growing boy!) on occasion and never being overweight.
sedentary, and
nobody seems to understand that you can eat as many vegetables as you want. They have literally zero calories. It's all fiber and water. The fiber passes through. So does the water.
Not true. Potato, squash, tomato, carrot, corn, garbanzo beans, sun dried tomato (the worst), and peas are among the high carb veggies.
I think all of this obesity, laziness and stupidity is all part of the same phenomenon: a decaying culture and lack of any meaningfulness in people's lives. The real ideology of most Americans is rational hedonism, which has its limits. Even most self-labeling religious people are chasing after the next gadget or attractive mate. I don't know what the solution is. (Maybe a nice plague.) I don't think it's exclusive to America but we are the epicenter.
PS I felt like posting the same picture a while back with a rant but couldn't justify it.LOL @ idea is in a fat suit. Do you think he has a fat mask too?
