Update: You can pre-load the game on Steam right now!

Note for those that don't know what this game is: Developed by the US Army, a free online FPS to simulate what it is like to be in the Army. AA3 is doing away with the 'required' training courses to play online like in AA2 -- also, no more jumping (prevents bunny hopping), sprinting animations improved, graphics improved (Unreal engine), running-slide animation enacted, no confirmation on HUD if you killed enemy (have to visually see if you killed enemy), lifelike bullet ricochets, all weapon sounds recorded in studio, all animations and sound done by Special Forces soldiers, realistic body damage (get hit in arm, accuracy lessens), gunfire changes sound depending on distance/environment, etc, in game medics, and more.

Update 2:
More quotes from a Team member, these are from the AA3 Steam forums:
On soldier's 'disappearing':
This is most likely due to the maintenance that is being conducted on all systems. Once things are running at normal capacity, the Soldiers should return.
If not (once the server issues are resolved) please let us know and I'll do my best to get this resolved.
Thank you all for your patience.
When asked for ETA of it working:
As much as I'd like to give you an ETA, I simply don't have that answer. Hopefully within the next 24 hours at latest.
About training not counting:
From the looks of things, if you pass the training and are denied on upload, your training should show as completed once Authentication is running at normal capacity.

None of us could have imagined the incredible number of players who would try to download and install this game at the same time. Due to this massive number of simultaneous connections, we're having some trouble keeping up with the demand. You should see an increase in both accessibility and gameplay performance very soon. Please see the full post on the Discussion Board for more info.
