I thought coulter was sean hannity in drag .. have they ever been seen together?
Remarks like that confirm my choice of RT.com as my primary news source

So it's not her bag, so she doesent like the low-scoring games, BFD if you don't like it DON'T WATCH IT, that simple. What kind of sick twisted brain gets off on putting down others fun anyway, sounds like she hasn't been reamed since the
Regan administration..

i lol'd. but they've got the British guy calling it "soccer" instead of Football (Futbol) so the typical USA'er knows what he's talking about.

Just replace all the "soccer"'s with "football"'s 🙂
The Brits are the ones who originally started the term "soccer."

Also, Ann Coulter... Not sure why anyone is wasting time reading here insane babble.

looooooooooollll. She should start an ATOT account, she'd be one of the most epic trolls around.

That's what Coulter is.....an upper class wise and beautiful woman who gets a big salary to troll. I doubt she fully believes half the shit she writes about.

COULTER: "Hmmmm....let's see. People are really enjoying this World Cup thing, boss. OK, let me see how I can insult most of humanity and Americans at the same time. This should draw lots of forum discussion/readers/eyes to my piece..."

EDITOR: "Excellent...LOL! That should bring eyeballs to the site. Here's your six figure paycheck. Keep up the good work and go buy yourself some nice designer pumps....on the house!"

So, a football game that ends 21-14 is a high scoring game, but a soccer game that ends 3-2 is a low scoring game? 😕

American football: requires cheerleaders to look at, because nothing is happening on the field 93.9% of the time. (Wall Street Journal: average football game has 11 minutes of action http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...NyT7YF8Tv5fmXhtGpshn3Xw&bvm=bv.69837884,d.b2k ; average game is now longer than 180 minutes) http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Are-NFL-games-taking-longer-than-ever.html

Wow, when you think about it, that's pretty sad.

The best part is where she compares the viewership of the most popular sport in the US to soccer. What is the viewership of regular season baseball or basketball games? I am sure nobody gives a shit about one of the 200 games shown on TV in a baseball season. Not to mention, soccer games have a pretty fixed length. You're getting 2 hours, maybe a little more. Baseball? If it hasn't been 2 hours by the 6th inning, considering yourself lucky.

The reason "America", and by that I mean the networks that would show it, don't like soccer is because there is no time to insert commercials. You get 50 minutes of uninterrupted game, 15 minutes of commercials and commentary, and another 50 minutes of game. Unlike football, where ever other play results in a commercial break.

to be fair, soccer probably has about 11 minutes of "action" as well.

I feel like box lacrosse should be a more popular game in North America. Games are 60min long and most of that is fast paced, uninterrupted play.

No way. Everything happens much faster in soccer. You must be defining "action" in some restrictive way. If you define it as "time that the ball (or puck) is in play" then I think I would suggest this ranking, from most to least:

Soccer
Basketball
Hockey
Football

... and then of course...

... somewhere way the hell down here ...

Baseball

Half the clock time in soccer is spent with some chucklehead writhing in agony after someone lightly brushed him.

I find soccer pretty boring, but she's an idiot.

I do think that if soccer ever becomes a popular televised sport in the US, it will also get bastardized with commercial breaks.

basketball and hockey would 100% be at the top. the clock never runs when the ball/puck isnt in play.

and come on let's be real and stop trying to convince yourself that there is 90 minutes of action in a soccer game.

nothing happens "faster" in soccer than it does in football as far as the "action" goes. football is blazing fast. and there is a lot of "action" going on between plays in football, it's just the same type of "action" that is happening in a chess game. there is also a lot of "action" that goes on on the field before the ball is actually snapped in football.

and i'm not trying to say why one is better than the other or vice versa. just enjoy what you enjoy, there is no need to compare them. i personally just enjoy most forms of competition in general.

I would trade walking advertisements for less commercial interruption in an instant. I think the nba already does this in some capacity and the nfl does it with practice uniforms. The problem is, commercial time will remain the same. In short time we'll get the worst of both worlds, shameless adverts' on uniforms and no change in commercial air time.

At least in baseball there are no commercial interruptions until 3 outs are made. (unless there is a call to the pen or injury).

That's part of what makes baseball a great game. There is no runoff time, no shot clock. Just 27 outs.

What British guy? The FIFA spokesman sounds germanic and the presenters sound American.
