Small update here.

This evening I and my wife drove down to a Home Depot on the Queens/ Brooklyn border and although I've seen migrants there before patiently waiting to be picked up for work.. what I saw today is much more concerning.

My wife went to go get a cart and a few migrants would not let her touch one unless she would give them money! I said leave it and lets go. They just followed me and her into the store after we took another cart but they grabbed onto it.

Again I just let the shopping cart go and walked away but security noticed it and asked me, are they with me? I said no!

Then security actually told them that they can't do that and they have to stop harassing the customers. But honestly security were outnumbered.

Didn't happen to just me though.. other customers were subject to the same thing and everyone was talking that the migrants harassing them is out of hand.

I honestly don't see this ending in a good way while Adams is incharge.

And I don't really have a solution to suggest other than maybe if they want green cards.. they should be sent to Ukraine to defend it against Orcs and if they do 2-3 successful tours, they can get their green cards!

P.S. These migrants aren't venezuelans.. if anything they look straight out of Africa and speak zero english & spanish.

I work construction and deal with laborers at home depot all the time. 99.9999999% of the time these people are the salt of the earth.

I apologize but I'm sick and tired of people bashing some of the best people I have ever met. Central Americans are the heart and soul of my construction business. They have literally taught me to be a better person in life. YMMV

I don't know if you live near the Howard Beach/ Ozone Park area or somewhere similar but usually in the morning there's like 120-150 hard working latino immigrants looking to get work there. (usually the number declines afterwards as they get picked up for work)

Has been that way for 2-3 decades. Not one of them has ever bothered me! If anything they just handed out their card to call em for estimates.

My problem is the harassment today while my wife had to deal with today and if you were me, you'd be pissed too man.

I was a contractor in the Bay area for 37 years and never once hired day labor from the Homie parking lot. The two reasons were the lack of required documentation, and the language barrier. I could get past the language issue, I could never get past the $25k fine if caught hiring undocumented labor. I actually had one employee that was using a a fake or stolen SS number, I had to release him the day I was notified of the issue.
I assume some of them were legal residents, but how do you determine that in the home depot parking lot?

Yes - first of all I doubt the story to begin with as 60 people is a huge number and would definitely have made the news. Second, exactly right - if there WAS a group of 60 people collectively harassing people and demanding money that's an easy answer, call the cops.

If we have a situation where the NYPD is not responding to calls then this is more reason to disband the police unions and force the NYPD to do their jobs.

I'm not justifying the expenditure, but you act like he's just handing out this cash directly to immigrants. That's definitely NOT what's happening. That cost is wrapped up in sheltering and food costs, and probably administrative costs associated with all of it.

Sounds like typical government spending to me. You don't want taxpayer money being "wasted" on these people, you've made that much plainly obvious. But there's no need to misrepresent how it's being used.

My experience was at 5:30 PM yesterday.

And no I didn't count the latino immigrant workers that just quietly look for work closer to the entrance fence. This bunch was huddled together by the cart pickup area and exits where people bring out the lumber!

P.S. The cops are indeed useless.. even before the migrant mess began.. cops are slow around here. If there's a robbery.. you might get someone to come 2 hours later.
