Adams really is terrible at his job - people are basically echoing what the mayor is telling them. Crime is low and getting lower but when the mayor tells you the opposite is true people believe him despite crime being lower now than at almost any point in their entire lives.

I think its that mixed in with him being a former police chief and so he literally only knows one very specific message "OMG crime is so bad, I'll clean it up" whilst he does jack shit to actually do that whilst he games the system for himself and his buddies.

Listened to a podcast that was about some ridiculously corrupt preacher and this jackass was involved and he strikes me as what you'd get if Michael Scott had been a police officer. (Which...I'm calling rights to that now. It'll be like Cops meets the Office.)

I think that makes sense - Adams comes from a place of being a cop and if you're a cop it's always to your advantage to say crime is terrible and getting worse because that leads to more money for cops (and it's not like you can get fired). When you're the mayor though falsely saying your city is a crime ridden hellhole is probably a bad idea!

I read another story today that Feds were removing barbed wire that we Texans put up to keep the invaders out, because Joe said the "borders are secure" so we should not impede the flow of migrants.

Gov. Abbot said we will keep replacing all the wire that gets pulled up. At least we are trying to stem the tide and do something about the debt and spending. Democrats laugh and do nothing. Sad.

And that would be incorrect because Greg Abbott is acting outside the scope of his authority. the river is federally protected, and the feds also have authority over navigable waters. So, it's under fed jurisdiction. Plus Abbott's a fucking ghoul.
