Oh wait, drunk pot heads are incapable of learning any thing. need proof of that look no further than the ovaloffice.

You are one wise old dude. 😉

Those images look pretty damn grim. I hope some of this begins to sink in. You don't bomb cities without causing massive destruction and death. The myth of precision bombing as a means to reduce damage is just that. A MYTH.

Precision bombing simply helps assure complete destruction of the target.

From the OP:

Maj-Gen Richard Natonski, commander of the 1st Marine Division, said the Ramadi operation was necessary to protect ordinary Sunnis. "Operation River Blitz is designed to target insurgents and terrorists who have attempted to destabilise the Anbar province. We were asked by the Iraqi government to increase our security operations in the city to locate, isolate and defeat anti-Iraqi forces and terrorists," he said.

I love those cool names. Sounds just like one of those video games.

We were "asked" to "increase our security operations" in Fallujah as well.

I'd call Fallujah and unqualified military success.

It's a shame cities are civilian targets.

I looked at the satalite images. Looks more like 5% is damaged, not your idiotic claim that 75% is damaged. Care to restate your damage estimate?

You need to re-evaluate those photos or read the links I posted FOR ONCE, instead of just looking at pictures, and read the comments on those images which you obviously can't compehend.

You need to relax BOBDN. If you think that we should let the terrorists/insurgents incubate in Anbar province and live to fight American forces another day, then you're clearly delusional.

Looks to me like you need a new prescription for those lenses😉 But hey, this isn't the first time you've tried to make asinine claims, is it "bbond"?

BBond,

"Locations marked show total or near-total destruction of structures and do not convey lesser damage not visible from satellite images of this resolution. While there is reported extensive damage to the city and its inhabitants the 26 locations marked appear to indicate that major devastation is limited. A more complete and accurate account awaits the availability of comprehensive ground level images and reports. "

That is a quote from the images you linked.

There is no 75% damage nor was the city leveled.

Like I said in the other thread. You are delusional. It doesn't matter what facts are pointed out to you, you ignore them.

And that's why everyone has moved right back in and it's costing U.S. taxpayers a few billion to rebuild Fallujah, right Michael?

BBond,

Like I said. Delusional. You made a claim of the city being leveled and 75% damage. You were called on it. You went and found links that proved you were wrong. Your response? - divert the topic.

Last I read, many of the houses are still booby trapped and it is still fairly dangerous to go into the city. Also, the population supported and sustained the insurgency. There are plenty of reasons why people would not be let back in. The city being "leveled" is obviously not one of them.

Michael

There is major damage in those photos. I don't read satellite reconnaisance, do you?

I'll stand by the figure I read from people who were on the ground in Fallujah.

So you don't have any accurate and reliable figures...what a shocker!

BBond,

The last link you posted showed some buildings that suffered major damage. No one is disputing that some _buildings_ were leveled.

75% of the city was not leveled. The city was not leveled.

Even if there were "ground reports", unless they survey the whole city, at best you'll get limited feedback from whatever small area they visited.

You can't admit that you were wrong, can you? You really should seek professional help.

Ofcourse there is damage, no one was making the claim nothing was destroyed. However you have made the claim that 75% was leveled - which is not backed up by any of the pics you've posted.

Like Richard Gere? Great source there.

Oh and the buildings that were damaged were damaged because of the terrorists hiding or firing from near them. Not the fault of our brave soldiers. We go out of our way to protect property in Iraq and elsewhere.

But of course, blame the the US servicemen while completely ignoring the shameless actions of the terrorist scum.

You people really don't read anything, do you? Even when it's posted right here at P&N for you.

Little wonder you're so misinformed.

The Fallujans from Zubayee's camp who have dared to visit their homes have come away horrified. The fighting has all but destroyed the city, which had emerged almost unscathed from the March 2003 invasion.

Mohammad al-Rawa, a university student, said he found his home destroyed and 90 percent of his neighborhood in ruins.

You people really need to take a course in satellite imagery analysis.

And what did the attack on Fallujah accomplish? City destroyed, dead civilians, more recruits for the "insurgency".

Do you actually believe cities that have been in open warfare remain unscathed?

Fools.

Can you recommend a good institution that teaches "satellite imagery analysis"? What major would that be in, too?
