I'm sorry I just don't get the hype for Adam on songs like this. In the 80's guys who could scream like him were a dime a dozen. Also, I don't see how his performance was original like some of the judges said, it was pretty much just like the original with more screaming. And Robert Plant did it way, way, way better.

I'm just watching it now, so I'll go back and read the comments after I'm done - I'm at Danny's solo song right now, Aerosmith's "Dream On". This is one of my favorite rock songs of all time and I almost threw up when he said that he'd be singing it...so far, he hasn't really convinced me that I reacted wrongly. Ooooooooh, he just did the scream...die. die now.
As for everybody that's come before him - Adam was pretty good, not great. Allison sang well, but I agree that the song was too plain for her. Kris felt out of place.

Okay, just finished the song - Adam and Allison's duet wasn't just vocally better, but at least they tried to play off of one another on stage. They had some chemistry while Kris and Danny just seemed like they were trying to hit the right notes.
Should be an interesting results show - we'll see if Adam's votes swing back up after last week. Performance-wise, I'd put Kris last, then a tie between danny and allison with adam at the top. That said, Adam didn't have a great week, it wasn't really anything special.

I think Kris should go, though I did like him more than Danny this week. I guess overall Danny has been a bit better (mostly early on and then last week was great).
I thought Allison was best by a mile tonight. liked their duet, just wish they did more of a harmonizing type song. I liked Danny/Kris as well, great harmonies and such. bit boring though, considering everything else.
I think the band ruined that performance for me with the neutered version of Whole Lotta Love. Adam is sort of a novelty. Kids these days never listened to 80's metal so what Adam is doing is new to them. It's more than just screaming, he has great range and can sing just about any style.
Kris was better than I thought he would do. Danny was kidding himself if he though he could pull of the high parts of Dream On. Terrible. I wish Allison didn't do Janis. She probably should have sucked it up and done Take It or maybe a Pat Benatar song.

i would go to a concert to see Adam and Allison though. In addition to their duet they both did awesome with their single song choice.

I agree as well. I expect Kris to go home this week, assuming that Danny has more of a following. Adam and Allison were well ahead of Danny and Kris. I wish Danny had done a solo song that was more like his duet. I thought he did well in the duet but totally sucked in the solo.

Also, Idol's list for top iTunes downloads was leaked: http://www.nypost.com/seven/04...nes_shocker_166567.htm. Not surprisingly Adam holds 6 of the top 10 spots in the download charts, but surprisingly Kris holds 3 of the spots, and Danny holds only 1. These obviously don't translate directly into votes since Kris was in the bottom two last week, but it certainly is interesting. Also, "Mad World" by Adam is the number-1-selling song so far this year.

Pretty much sums it up for me too.
When Danny picked that song I knew he had no chance at hitting those high notes right....and he didn't hit them at all, very screechy and annoying

Duets were kind of cool. Adam and Allison had a lot more chemistry, but that's to be expected b/c it's easier singing with a male/female, plus they are much more similar in style and attitude than Danny and Kris.
Kris had the worst night, but I don't think he deserves to go based on his previous performances. AT this point it could be anyone though. I'd like to see Danny go probably.

The previous seasons I would buy the AI CD. now that they have it in iTunes, I just download the songs I like and create a CD for my car, since I'm cheap and won't put in the ipod cable hookup thingymajiggy.
Last season was pretty much all David Cook, and a song from the few other contestants I could tolerate. This season could pretty much be all Adam, all the time, with some Allison.

Last season when I kept up with the show, I downloaded a couple of David Cook's songs, but only because they were full songs (not shortened versions as on the show), studio recorded, and sounded great. If they were just clips from the show, I wouldn't have bothered.

Yeah, the studio versions are awesome. Just listening to 30 sec clips on iTunes can tell you.
