Ya, I'm glad to see Amanda gone. She was a horrible, horrible one-trick pony who never really acted like she wanted to be there. I'm sure she did, but damn it, show some fucking emotion!
she's just the rough, don't-touch-me, type. i liked her voice initially, but she only has one side to it. still, she could make some money off those pipes.

Yeah she didn't even want to hug Carly, when Carly found out she was safe.

I couldn't believe they let him use the talk box setup.
yeh, i don't agree with that either. i don't consider that a traditional instrument like the guitar, piano, and even harmonica. even Peter Frampton shouldn't use it if he were an AI contestant. 😛

I loved it when he acted all big b/c he had only used it the day earlier, like using a talk box is some big feat. He is very boring.

I couldn't believe Carly ended up in the bottom.

That is crazy. CArly is one of the best, her only competition (in regard to competency, not popularity) is little David. This is why I usually stop watching the show. The best singers usually get voted off. How in the world did Kristy Cook or whatever her name is survive another round? She is really bad.

She's prettier than Amanda. Really, they both should have been voted off.

I'm not upset that Amanda is gone, because she should have been voted off weeks ago. I can't believe that Kristy Lee Cook is still in this thing.

This was such an odd week. I think it was a mistake to do Lennon/McCartney songs again because it seemed like most of the performers had trouble finding the right song that suited their style and had not been sung in the last round.

I think Carly will see a surge in votes next week, since a lot people were shocked to see her in the bottom 3 last night and will make it a point to try and keep her in next week.

I was a little sad to see Amanda go b/c at least her performances had emotion and were semi-exciting. I just can't get into Kristy, Ramiele, Syesha, heck, even little David is getting boring. She obviously wasn't going to win it all but it would have been cool if she could have been in the top 10 and gone on the tour.
That being said, I honestly think Carly in the bottom 3 was a ploy. I don't believe the votes actually worked like that. I think they put here there to try and give her a boost. Typically when someone like that is in the bottom and stays they get a huge surge in votes b/c people panic and don't want her gone. Ya, I'm a skeptic.

She gave me a headache whenever she sang. glad she is gone.

I heard it was because one of the professional singer "mentors" had to back out due to an obligation and it kinda left American Idol in a bind.... not that it really matters, I agree with you.

David Cook Billie Jean - wow.

amazing performance but they gave him too much credit for the arrangement. It was exactly Chris Cornell's version.

Exactly... I thought that when I heard it.... Simon saying it was "a big risk" was a load of crap.... it wasn't. It was someone elses big risk that pawned off as his own.

it still was a big risk. i mean he was rearranging a famous song by the King of Pop.

so what if someone else sang it like that before. MJ sang the song originally, and if Cook sang it verbatim to the way MJ did then he would be singing someone else's arrangement just the same.

i thought it was great. David Cook is going on to make albums whether he wins American Idol or not.

but that's the point, he didn't rearrange anything. He sang it exactly the same as someone else did it. Cool song and great performance but he shouldn't get credit for someone else's work.

i didn't hear where he claimed it was his arrangement, and are you thinking the judges thought it was all his?

Ryan introduced the song as "Chris Cornell's Billie Jean" (or something to that effect), but the judges' praise seemed to give Cook credit for the arrangement. They called it "brave" and a big risk that paid off, but essentially he just picked the right arrangement of the right song.

Ewww I just listened to Chris Cornell's cover of Billie Jean on youtube... he needs to diaf. It's just wrong, all wrong.
