Sandy Hook is the one that made me realize we'd never be able to do anything "real" to stop the problem under the current conditions.

Yea. If we aren't able to enact meangingful gun laws because a psycho kills little kids, then the truth is we don't want to or aren't able to enact real gun legislation. Gun violence will continue and only get worse.

Yeah wonder how people would react if the founding fathers put in the constitution that everyone must wear those stupid wigs they had on? But so dead set on 2A but willing to look past that they only had muskets back then not assault rifles.
Muskets that were only capable of around 4 rounds per minute.

You guys didn't do shit for Sandy Hook. It's been almost a decade.

Who exactly are the "you guys" you complain of and what exactly do you contend we should have done?

We have tried in CT (where Sandy Hook is). We adopted substantially more stringent gun laws including outlawing high capacity magazines (including already owned ones). And Ct has born the expense of successfully defending numerous legal challenges to those new laws (although I'm pessimistic about future challenges given the how far the current Supreme Court has gone partisan wacko).

Americans. Not like you didn't have example to follow.

Even Trudeau with his minority government got the ball rolling.

Bucker Blabberson on Fox News: "The man had mental disorders, and thus the gun was not at fault."

Ever wondered where the Conservative GOP get the idea that it is only the person and n9t gun problems? Obviously the answer is, where ever they get news and info.

Mental problems exist in every country. Why is the US the only developed one that has mass shootings to this degree?

If every mass shooting happened a month before the election things would change. The voters are equally responsible because they keep putting people in office that refuse to enact real gun safety

Yeah wrong shooting, but Colorado governor attempted to counter this because of the knife attacks in Asian countries. And he just dodged as anchor kept pushing him

AFAIK, the USA is unique in that it's populated 99+% by immigrants from all over the globe. Consensus doesn't come as naturally therefore. Seems to me as good an explanation as any. I mean, what else can you come up with?

You mean Canada and Australia aren't? Hell rest of the Americas are more or less all taken over by immigrants.

It's the American Exceptionalism.

True, but Can and Aust aren't self-defined as the world's police force like the USA. No other country has the military muscle of the USA. It's a bloodthirsty country, hard to work up a movement to disarm. I'm all for it, but my ideas on guns are far from mainstream.

I am not even talking disarmament, you guys can't even do universal background check for every transaction.
Yes, that should be achievable as well as banning possession of assault weapons by the general citizenry... sooner or later.

How many trillions did you guys spend on war on terror? That is about 3,000 people killed. Yet every year you have 10k plus death by gun related homicide and nothing is done.

That is three 9/11 PER YEAR!

Until AmeriKKKa, except it's not exceptional, nothing going to change about it.

yet another shooter that bought their gun that day or the day before. but a few day mandatory waiting period is horrific!

fucking republicans are evil.
