American Chopper: Senior vs Junior

Homerboy

Lifer
really? Did we need more of this TLC?
It's such a horribly obvious money grab by both of these half-wits its unbelievable.

That being said, I love a car crash and this show pisses my wife off. DVR is set.
/me sulks away in shame.

Yeah, they need more of it ... my dad loves this show.

I can't say that I like it anymore, it was somewhat cool and original a few years ago.

Well, I liked American Chopper and am looking forward to the new shows.
Paul Jr is a much better bike builder than his Dad ....... will be interesting to watch them square off.

I love pawn stars, but DAM it can piss me off when that bald motherfucker lowballs the hell out of customers...and then they sell anyways!!

Ive seen every episode, and honestly I've never seen him (intentionally) lowball anyone. I get MORE pissed off when the appraiser comes in, says it would go for $1000 at auction, then the seller expects to get paid that. So stupid.

That's how they make their living. 😛

Anyway, they get a hellava lot more money selling to them than trying to sell it in a garage sale.

Yep, it's like they think the Pawn Shop guys can get more than what the piece is worth when they re-sell it. Actually, I just think they don't think.

This is unquestionably true. Often though I think, if it were me, rather than selling it right there and then, wouldn't you try to sell it on your own at somewhere maybe more "specialized" for your item? Versus a PAWN SHOP? You can always bring it back to them if you're not lucky.

I dont get how the professional appraisals work either. Obviously thisis fairly staged for the show and the item on hand. Pawn Shop calls in appraiser (must pay for appraiser?) and then the person doesn't sell?!??

Wait... I just hijacked my own thread!!

American chopper was fun to watch a few years ago. now its played out.

pawn stars is ok. i don't mind them lowballing people. Thats business. what irks me is when someone has something they are told is worth 10-20k and they agree to take 3k and bitch about it. bah you don't want 3k? fucking sell it yourself.

i agree. like the retarded mother fucker who had that gold bar from a sunken treasure ship.... worth 48K and sells for 35k.

It would seem like most of those people have come straight from the casinos and are pretty much ready to sell their G'ma's for $5 if they offered it.

Did anyone watch AC:SvJ? (yeah I just dubbed it that...)
Talk about a contrived, premeditated/determined show... wow.
I'll watch next week again though. I'm a sucker.

I just don't get Paul Jr. I mean, I wouldn't say this often, but Sr. is WAY smarter than him and totally right. Jr. is building this shop from scratch, without a customer on the line and he's got like5+ employees, all decently paid I'm sure. 6,000sq ft already. Lining up what I think was about 4-5 lifts... this kid needs to learn to walk before he runs.

Then again, its all more or less scripted and pre-planned.

Ugh... why do I even get into this shit and actually THINK about it. Screw you TLC.

hmm watched AC the other night. it sure seemed fake to me. seemed like the "fight" and antics were staged.

It's been staged for a long time.

I don't doubt that Sr. used to get pissed off all the time, but they've always edit it to look worse than it actually was.

Haven't watched the show in years, but my feeling is, the "break up" is also somewhat staged.

Nobody wants to see Sr. having a bunch of yes men build bikes. Nobody wants to see Sr. build bikes himself. Nobody wants to see Jr. build bikes. They want to see Sr. get pissed at Jr. for being a slack-ass, and laugh at how much of a worthless moron Mikey is.

That got them a few strong seasons of viewership, and it's been going downhill since they started faking it and trying to become a national bike franchise.

yea! god dammit.. how dare he try to run a profitable business! He should be trying to give these people every penny the item is worth! who cares if he doesn't make money! that's not the american way! 🙄
