Old news. What's your point?
Actually the older projections were off by nearly a decade. And the old projections were only taken 4 years ago.
Maybe by 2012, they'll have to revise them again.
Possibly. I still see no problem. Demographics change all the time.
The problem is this is not just a demographic change; it will completely change not only the US as we know it but have dire repercussions for the entire world.
By in large Hispanic off spring are only bettering the parent by a slight margin, their high school drops out rates are high and the percentage that do graduate and continue on to college is very small, and of that, the percentage that actually graduate with a degree are even smaller.
Thus as the Hispanic population increases so does the lower class poor, the middle class is not being replaced and the rich are getting richer. Without a large strong middle class the US cannot afford a massive majority population of lower class poor,
it will collapse, that is an absolute inevitability. Once that happens it will re-emerge as something like a much worse Mexico 20 years ago only with no place for anyone to immigrate to for a better life. There will be wide spread famine and disease because we will not be able to produce enough or afford to buy enough food to support the population, we will not have enough doctors, or be able to afford medical facilities, medicine to treat such a large number poor.
There will be no one like the US to send us aid either; This US collapse will have catastrophic domino affects on the EU and China, in all likelihood causing similar collapses, then in turn the world economy will collapse. Wars will rage and we will be in a permanent global Dark Age playing survival of the fittest destroying the entire planet in the process.
Off your meds, Socio, or did you double up?
You conflate and confuse cause and effect, as is your general predeliction. The extraction and concentration of wealth into the hands of a very few is a natural consequence of unrestrained Capitalism and lack of recirculation in the economy brought on by low taxes on the very top echelons... Non-reactionary thinkers figured that out 75-100 years ago.
Not in this case, it will be a lack of recirculation but it will be brought upon by an exponentially expanding self oppressing Hispanic majority whom seemingly are more comfortable in the low rungs of the ladder of success.

Your thinly veiled elitism and racism are appalling, no matter what kind of brown people you reference- latinos, palestinians, arabs, persians, whoever- they're all out to destroy America, Izroyel, and all that's good and right in the world as we know it, right?
Seems like every time someone makes a point that scares you, you resort to name calling to make yourself feel better, it is like you create your own personal denial shield.
The fact is the US did need to supplement its population to compensate for its dying predominantly White middle class. Someone decided to put the future of this country in the hands of the Hispanic and deliberately allowed them to mass migrate here. I guess they figured they would come, seize the opportunity to better themselves, seek higher education?s and strengthen the dwindling middle class.
That was the biggest mistake this country ever has made!
They came here by the millions, and as a whole have not seize the opportunity to better themselves, sought higher education?s nor strengthen the dwindling middle class. They have and continue to fail themselves, this country and as a consequence the whole world.
Had anyone bothered to look at this early on it could have been avoided ; they should have taken in to account which immigrants were seizing the opportunity to better themselves, seeking higher education?s and strengthening the dwindling middle class. Had they done that, they would have realized they needed to shut down the southern border 25 years ago, and for the most part only allowed temporary work visas.
Then instead of allowing 20-40 million Hispanics in they would have allowed 20-40 million Asians in. Asians have a lower dropout rate, and higher continuance to college and college graduation rate than anyone else including Whites. As a whole they seize the opportunity to better themselves and squeeze every bit out of they can. Had they done this the US would now be stronger than it ever has been however they did not.
Instead we have places like the Los Angeles where we can see the future, a single city that is forking out over 30 million a month just in welfare alone. We will have generations of people retiring in the future who will have put little or nothing in to social security, because they worked under the table most of their working life or used faked social security numbers. Who is going to pay for them? Certainly not their high school dropout welfare dependant off spring. Who is going to pay these offspring as well? That hand full if rich people at the top sure as hell won?t.
No one will, and as I said we will become something like a much worse Mexico 20 years ago only with no place for anyone to immigrate to for a better life.
You can make all the derogatory comments you want, spew all the epithets you want it will not change the fact we the US dug ourselves big hole with misguided, mismanaged, delusional immigration practices. We have nowhere to go but down where our imminent fate awaits us at bottom.
