AMD64 Temperature Poll

Just curious, I don't really care about the proc speed or if its 90nm or not as long as it isn't overclocked. Please run a program that will max at the CPU load for at least 20min before taking the temps. Also, please leave case doors closed.

At stock 2GHz I idle at around 18-21C and hover around 31-33C under full load. (A64 3200+/Winchester)

got a 3500 90nm. idle anywhere from 24c-32😛 and load gets around 40c. sometimes higher depending on outside temps

I don't care about the accuracy of teh results, I'm just curiousabout the range of temps.

FX-55 tends to run extremely hot. My idles @ 37C and 53C @ load
Notice I am getting this temp WITH WATERCOOLING.

Maybe not. People in Alaska would probably have heat on, and people in Florida would have A/C on.

Might be worth it to know that Newcastle core CPUs are being misread all over the place. My 3200+ used to read 50 at idle and as high as 74C at load. 74C... and stable. Riiight.

A lot of motherboard mfgrs are releasing new bioses with fixes for this problem. I installed a new bios for my DFI LanParty UT nf3 250gb and temps went down about 5-7C. However I have a hard time believing my computer is 49C at idle and my Zalman all copper heatsync is cool to the touch.

Dropping the cpu down to 1800mhz 3000+ 1.44v (slghtly overvolted since I left cpu vid at 1.5v and the neo2 undervolts about .06-.07.....

At idle speedfan reports 30c corecenter 32c

At load (FH for last 2 hours) speedfan reports 41c corecenter 44c

It still doesn't matter. All you did was reverse the argument. My point is still the same. Add the motherboard and monitoring utilities and that further skews the results. My advice will always be to always try to get as close to ambient as you can and you're all right.

38 idle, around 53 after long Prime sessions. But this is using stock cooling w/ thermal pad, so I'm not surprised.

Yes they do, mine runs at ~45-46C idle / ~54-56 load w/stock cooling.

A64 3000+ Newcastle:

40-43 Idle

51-53 Full Load

I used to be concerned about the load temps, but they've been very consistent since I built my system in December. When I consistently top out over 55 degrees, then I'll start to be concerned again...

It was 75C+ @ load with Themaltake Venus 12.
guess my temp reading was and is wrong then.

Maybe it was the Thermaltake as the stock cooler is actually pretty efficient, it even has copper heat pipes. Obviously AMD didn't skimp on them.

I'm kinda curious, how hot are graphics cards supposed to get? I using NVIDIA's monitor program and its been up to 63 while gaming. Is that too hot? XFX GeForce 6600 PCI-E.

Anyways, just installed a Thermalright XP-120 with a 120 Vantec Stealth on a 3500+ Winchester. Getting around 27-30 idle and up to 40 active.
