Currently AMD is price @ 2.50 a share.
Text

F P/E: -5.73
Net Profit Margin -35.40%
Operating Margin -29.98%
EBITD Margin -10.23%
Return on Average Assets -20.09%
Return on Average Equity -84.81%

Which is quite close to the delisting mark. Is there anything around the corner to make AMD the comeback kid in the next 6-12 months, or this is a sign that AMD is at the end of its rope?

It doesn't look good, but I have seen AMD down that far befor and some how they managed to crawled back up.

I could get a couple of thousand shares and unload it if the next fool willing to part with there money for $4-5 a share.

Splitting the company into two (design one and manufacturing the other), infusion of cash from the ME.
There are changes coming, whether they will help the stock price is an unknown. Most of these developments should in theory be reflected in the share price, but the market doesn't really always seem to work that way.

I don't see tech rebounding till mid next year. I'd say that you're gonna have to play this long since AMD is so lowly rated and roughly under-performs the S&P right now. I'd rather get Intel rather than AMD since it has a good dividend, have better procs, and are in a better financial position.

For what it's worth, Jim Cramer likes AMD over Intel and he is probably smarter (at least with money) than most of Anandtech.

Add to that the fact that AMD and ATI are now one and that they make good video cards. AMD is on the skids right now, but overall it seems like $2.50/share is a buying opportunity.

All the more reason to short the stock.

<< This retard bought AMD when it hit 12.35 a share. I'll probably never get that back.

HPQ > Dell.

If you want a good P/E and a lower risk buy CAT. It's under 34 bucks a share currently.

To the OP: Only put in AMD what you can afford to lose. You could make out like a bandit if it snaps back to $10 or you could lose it all if AMD goes belly up. That said it's probably better odds than Las Vegas, but less fun in the process.

it is already built into the price for whatever "great" product they have in the pipeline for the next 12-18 months...

i'm considering dropping $200 as a play-around investment in stockmarket. AMD looks like it might be good for that?

(noone talk about how 200 is nothing. as i said, play-around investment)

AMD at this price isn't bad. But buying any stock right now is throwing money away. Oh! Thats right there throwing this system out. Spend your dollars now.

If you want to gamble in the tech space take a look at AMKR and TQNT. I haven't pulled the trigger yet as I'm still waiting but I'm especially interested in AMKR if it gets to a dollar bill. I will put a bucket full of cash into AMKR if it reaches a buck.

In big cap away from tech, I've my eye on COP, BNI, DIS, and PKX.

I don't care about P/E. There are much more important statistics to use in picking stocks than P/E.
I also fail to see how CAT is a "lower" risk than HPQ.

I meant lower than Dell, sorry for the poor wording. However, CAT is a pretty good deal right now IMO, plus it's always good to diversify and most of the stocks talked about here are tech so I wanted to throw something non-tech out there.

I guess you could say I was more replying to binister.

That's ok, I bought $500 worth at about $25 when I opened my Roth IRA a couple years back...had not checked the price in months. Now that IRA is worth about $50.

I'm no financial expert, but aren't you supposed to buy a stock based on where you see the company moving in the near future, not based on it just being a low price? -84.81% ROI ? Uh, no thanks.
