its true that hte fx-57 is the best for gaming out there, but 5fps doesnt do justice. the x2 4800+ is the far smarter choice and the more superior processor in all fields. dual-core's the future.
For current games, the fastest single cores are faster than the duals, but you need to be at max resolution before it really matters.
For video editing, dual usually wins. Some apps are not threaded well, so no gain. But, the newer high-end and now some of the consumer editors are threaded.
