Well, exactly 9 hours from now we will see them for sale & see the reviews.
9 hours and 4 mins, they will all be out of stock.
9 hours and 7 mins, people will be shaking their heads. (Those that like Vega will shake their head in one direction, those that don't will shake their heads in another direction).

My zoom and enhance interpretation of Hardware Unboxed game average ranking:
  1. GeForce GTX 1080 Ti
  2. GeForce GTX 1080
  3. Radeon RX Vega 56?
  4. GeForce GTX 1070
  5. Radeon Fury X (proper name not used)
  6. Radeon RX 480 or 580
  7. GeForce GTX 1060
That's my take as well. The 56 and 1070 are basically equal. If you can get the 56 for a reasonable price it'll be great paired with a 1440 Freesync monitor. Probably. If a bit power hungry.

Man, I could have made a new topic for this...
"The first official Vega 64 review starts now!"
Just think of all the fame & glory I would have had here! :p ;)

So that means vega 64 does indeed trade blows with the gtx1080 FE? Of course the vega 64 is also a reference card. Well that does make it viable for me I suppose. I will have to wait for more benchmarks. It will still most likely be a gtx 1080ti for my new thread ripper system though.

Or 2 vega cards in crossfire. Depending on price I guess hmmmmmmmm but then there is the lack of support for crossfire/sli in new games these days or it's just not implemented well. There is also DX12 multi GPU to consider...... I don't know. First world problems?

Wonder if it's safe to assume Liquid scores will be greater than any AIB outside of a custom Liquid setup?

Seems the Liquid Cooled is holding well against a 1080 FE. Going to be interesting when sites throw in a AIB 1080.

I really wonder how it is possible to keep that thing cool and quiet. I couldn't do that for custom (MSI) R9 290 so I guess it would be even harder with this card.

Why is Vega 56 $400? It should be like $330 which was also the launch price of R9 390. What is AMD doing?

How do you want to launch a card at $330 if the production probably already costs at least $150 or maybe even more ?
Retailers, distributors and graphics card suppliers also want their piece of cake.

LOL i don't care about who gets how much.A card that is 14 months late should not cost more than the launch price of the 1070($379).
It competitive with 1070 on performance but not in power efficiency and is atleast a year late. How do you justify $400 for that?

GTX1070 launch price was 450usd 379 was some fantasy crap.
What makes you think the $399 figure won't be fantasy crap either? Most good AIB models will bein the range of $420-450.
Also why are you comparing the msrp of a card that came out 14 months to one thats due to come out this month. The newer gen card is supposed to be faster, more efficient and cheaper. Vega 56 even with high power use would have been a great buy at $330. Its supposed to be an R9 390 successor.

vega 56 is fury successor which cost 550usd at launch.Btw its mining craze so MSRP dont mean anything.GTX1070 still cost here in eu 500-600usd(350USD MSRP now/400USD founders)

With that, quite utterly insane power draw? I'd certainly hope so. Well maybe some mad souls will try and push it even further. Quest for nuclear fusion or something ;)

I guess if they can sell it in compute and to the mining crowd its all good from a $$ standpoint, gamers will still be around for the next iteration... With the caveat that more ppl may be locked into a gsync combo... Oh well.

Vega is the worst GPU from AMD in a decade after the HD 2900XT. AMD have regressed from Fiji in every aspect - perf/sq mm , perf/watt and it seems even perf / clock. AMD is the only company who can deliver such cringe inducing disasters. RTG has delivered their own version of Bulldozer. AMD GPU market share in 2018 will surely go below 20%. Thats pretty much guaranteed.

Well, Vega can't really directly damage their market share :) AMD have had essentially nothing at all in this market segment for the past ~18 months.

They might start to suffer in 2018 but that'll be more due the age of Polaris.

feeling better about the recent 1080ti purchase by the minute :) .. Allthough I would have loved a card that could mine well too... as to just to tip my toes in the mining craze :(.

A 1080Ti will mine very well actually.
