Ya your correct but the roadmaps keep getting pushed ahead I believe that Amd well have Quads late 2006 maybe earlier.
Question how many apps. are written for dual core right now today . Quad core 8 core lol get real people I gonna run out and buy a Cpu that is useless at the moment.
How long has Amd 64 been out how many apps. on the desktop can use this .
Its nice to brag about but I won't pay for anthing that I can't get full use out of right now today.
None that think logicly would because by the time you can make use of it you well need to upgrade anyway. X2 is a good thing right now but quads on the desktop right now get real.

Ah, thanks for the link. At this point I would count this as mere rumor. It would be an interesting development if true, but I'm not holding my breath. :)

If AMD delivers Quad Core @ even 2.4+ghz that's all they need. Granted some single thread apps will not gain quite as much speed (2.4ghz is already very fast ) Having the ability to assign EACH core a different task is clearly better..

Gaming, ripping a DVD, winrar, rendering a video..

I'll be willing to give a slight amount of core speed to GAIN 3 additional useful cores..

Zinn2b is an extreme Intel Fan boy . Who does cause some problems with people who have know foresite . The first time I read his post I was a little shocked at what he posted but as time goes bye I have changed my opion of him as his predictions (he says research) is proving to be right on the money.

I am starting a new campaign against trolls...All of them will be on my buddy list and I will continue to PM then and harass them where ever they go...i will ofcourse attack them when they lie and spread FUD, but that shouldn't be that hard to find...

But I would love to do this to their site...lead me to HE11....

If apple and Intel can play nice together and Steve Jobs lets there operating system run on all x86 platforms . Microsoft well find out that they are not well liked at all . And apple making a O/S that well run best with an Intel cpu or platform . Ya this is bigger than big
It was microsoft that told intel that they wouldn't make an operating system for Itanic because 64 bit was not needed on the desktop. while in the background they were working with amd to bring a broken 64bit system to the market.
If you know pc history than you know that Bill Gates stole windows from Apple . So if you don't see the big picture here to bad . I have read that apple well bring a O/S forward for the Itanic for desktop use ya it is a big deal.( 2008)
Apple does know how to create very good O/S.

Steve Jobs is the Best but he was to honest in business the devil always wins cause he Lies Cheats And Steals ( Bill Gates) Ok billy sue me.

Yup so does microsoft on X-box. I Have yet to see the X-box blue screen.
When you have a closed controlled platform its a heck of a lot easier to control the OS reaction. But then my windows XP hasnt blue screened yet. And any of the servers I managed havent blue screened in years except when there was a hardware failure like a CPU, Ram or Hard drive.

If apple ports to x86 and becomes as multi vendor like Microsoft we will see just how good of an OS kernal it really is. But Steve Jobs is too much of a pvssy to do that.

or in other words, 4core will come to serverdom, and will probably run 2-3x the highest athlon. $$$
