I would like to point out something that nobody seems to notice, about the 6C/12T CPU in that benchmarks.

ZD3301BBM6IF4_37/33_Y

Now lets look at what Eng Sample numbers mean, and focus on TDP package.

The 6C/12T CPU here has TDP indicator as: BB = 65W(!).

Every other CPU Eng sample, especially with ZD is final version that we will see in retail.
The CPU benchmarked does not have XFR. It is not 1600X. It does not cost 259$.

Is this the real world? AMD $229 6C/12T at 65W equaling a $600 140W 6850K?

Probably the CPUZ bench is the best of best scenario (Integer?), but wow!

Here you have it:
AMD-Ryzen-Full-Lineup.jpg

Wait a minute, this picture has quite an implication here. The 8c/16t ones that are leaked so far has "BA" power class indicating 95w. The recent 6c/12t leak was also having "BB" power class denoting 65w.

If you look at the 95w with X models, the power class is not "BA", but rather "BC". Which means, the "1700x" that was leaked quite a while ago might as well be the "PRO 1700" and is likely without XFR enabled. As do the "1600x" in the leaks that is likely to be "PRO 1600" instead.

All I can say is..

Shut-Up-And-Take-My-Money-Fry.jpg

Actually, with those $600 he's holding I could get the 8c16t 1700, a decent motherboard, and decent RAM, overclock that to the rumored 4.3-4.5GHz and be stomping all over the $1100 6900k on 90% of workloads out there if not the stock 7700k on gaming, and have a rig that will last me more than the 5 years I got out of this 2500k

Welcome back AMD, if true

Anyone else finds odd that in the CPU-Z leak, the benchmark is in an English OS, while the CPU-Z pic is in Chinese?

Taken with a different camera too, judging by the pic size.
The CPU-z screenshot does look legit, but the other could be anything. Also, the CPUz screenshot with task manager is running Windows 8.1, the one with the actual score is Windows 10

This is the question 1600x or 1700. Prices are too close

A DLDO with bristol ridges? With low entry/exit latency? I'm surprised they dont sell better.

The IPC is still low. Only the 15W Bristol Ridge rivals with the 15W Haswell in cinebench (due to higher clocks), but not with broadwell and skylake...

Yes. But the Eng Sample for the 6 core is:
ZD3301BBM6IF4_37/33_Y

BB. Which is in 65W territory.

And you are completely correct. the 8C/16T with 3.6/4.0 is BB class, which means locked 95W TDP. Without XFR. It might be 1800 Pro chip.

P.S. You know what is funniest? Lets look at https://forums.anandtech.com/thread...ecture-details.2465645/page-210#post-38743989 this thread and read from The Stilt's post, and what could be the conclusion.

That CPU-Z bench is really impressive, especially if that's a 65w part.

Amazing if true. I was planning on buying the cheapest 6/12 Ryzen CPU for my Plex server, but man; this is making me want to replace my Main rig with the 8/16 variant...

I'll run the test at stock speeds when I get the chance. Probably tonight :(

Nice performance here.

http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/core_i7_6950x_6900k_6850k_and_6800k_processor_review,9.html

6850K 6C/12T 3.6/4.0 Single Thread: 1835 pts/Multi - 10872
6900K 8C/16T 3.2/3.7 Single Thread: 1784 pts/Multi - 12980
Ryzen 7 Eng Sample 6C/12T 3.3/3.7 Single: 1888 pts/Multi - 12644

So it appears that AMD's SMT may actually be better than Intel's HyperThreading.

Ryzen CPUs in essence: Single Thread performance in 90% of workloads at least on Haswell level, with much better multithreading than anything AMD's competitor is able to deliver. Very efficient and dense design, that can clock very high.

Hats off, AMD. Hats off.

I can only imagine how hilarious this speculation must seem to reviewers actually under NDA and testing the products (hopefully by now) :D

ThreadRipper has nothing to do with SMT ;)
Regardless, the name is absolutely horrible. As are the other names AMD has recently registered. They indeed seem to be targeting "gamers" (i.e < 15 year old) customers with those.

Each to there own i guess. I think it's great, as i'm sure a number of others do as well. But thanks for the info that ThreadRipper has nothing to do with SMT. :)

I've heard otherwise, but I'm not sure if it is depending on the region.

I believe AdoredTV said in his recent video that AMD isn't sending review samples directly but using their PR group or something, and that they sent them early by accident (some kind of miscommunication).

Anyway, the alledged leaks we've seen so far are not done on review parts.

Yeah because they wouldn't start with ZD which is qualification desktop correct?

About Ryzen, list of Fottemberg's prophecies that have come true are almost 100%.
DDR4-3200+
Broadwell-E IPC
Frequencies (3.6-4 GHz default, 4.5 GHz air overclock)
Prices
SMT of Ryzen better than Intel SMT

I'm waiting for his next news about new Intel uarch LOL
