Imo the news here is the price, I personally wouldn't trust a shop on specs anyway. So I'd say they just took the specs from the 1950X as a placeholder there.

I finally figured out how to translate it, and I found this interestuing:

Non-controversial references to the specifications were already in the run-up, which certified the thread ripper 2990X a basic clock of 3.0 GHz and a turbo of 4 GHz (4.2 GHz with XFR). A screenshot that appeared today also mentions 3.0 GHz base clock and a maximum turbo clock of 3.8 GHz.

And I think I already predicted that.

As i see HKEPC is main source, and Threadripper 2990X all Core Boost is 3.4ghz.

Hi all. I'm new here. I could share some news about Ryzen(sometimes also Intel maybe) from my country.😀

https://www.chiphell.com/thread-1875969-1-1.html

this author said the silicon-lottery of Ryzen Gen2 Quad core is a bit different compared to 2600X/2700X. You have more luck that reach higher clock. For example 60% of old Ryzen has high voltage, when comes to Ryzen2 Quad there's only 30% chance has high volt now. As the photo showed he reach 4.3Ghz with 1.386v in 2300X, with STOCK cooler. OTOH, this SKU and also 2500X very likely, has only 1CCX (8M L3 compared to 2x4M in CPUZ compared to old Ryzen Quad)

the author also said maybe because the later silicon has better voltage.

Another important news is, another author who's under NDA said TR2 is coming SOON, but I dont know how SOON🙁 he dont want to break NDA so all his speech is understatement.

I would keep post in anand when there's news if I have some spare time. see ya😀

At this frequency the chip will be within 180W; about 100% sure on this...

Pinnacle Ridge on user settings is at 62W@3.7GHz.

If we look at the voltage/frequency curve then the same chip will dissipate 62 x (30/37)^2.56 = 36.25W at said 3GHz, that s 145W for 4 dies, also there s only 2 dies out of four that will have the IMC enabled in TR2, add 10% voltage for solid stability and we are right at 180W.

Edit : The same maths say 3.4GHz@250W....
