It's here, just waiting on my motherboard but it'll arrive tomorrow!

I'm still trying to decide between a 1700 and a 1700x, not to mention waiting for a x370 matx board.
I understand the Ryzen Master Utility lets you create profiles. Can these profiles be automatically enabled when a application runs, or do I have to manually load the profile?

Height of cooler looks to be critical if you have a small case. Have you seen any info about the standard AMD coolers? My mATX can accept 130 mm and my ITX 120 mm.

If I remember correctly, they're around ~40mm (Stealth), ~65mm (Spire) and ~100mm (Max).

Don't know about CH6 (didn't research it as much as I never ordered one) but the MSI X370 Titanium has a flashing chip so you can flash the BIOS from a dedicated USB port on the back (conveniently tilted 90 degrees and located next to the BIOS reset button) which functions properly without a CPU, RAM or GPU...

All ROG boards have this as well. Didn't revive the C6H I had though. Frakkin' Asus man...

Congrats IEC. I'll be away next week and hopefully when I get back I'll be able to order an Asus ROG Crosshair VI to replace my Asus Prime B350 Plus.

Did your board brick itself from the automatic update or what? Is there any way to avoid that?

It bricked itself when overclocking. In my case, I used the AI Suite 5-way optimization (which is what I typically use as a baseline on Asus boards). Jay at JaysTwoCents appeared to be manually OCing from the video he put up.

Damn, DDR4 prices are literally through the roof lately. Two weeks ago newegg had several promos on 2x16GB on g.skill tridentz kits at $185-200, now these same kits are $100 more. Too rich for my blood.

My R7 1800x will finally be here today. It was supposed to be here Sat, but Fed Ex screwed something up and my delivery was delayed till today 🙁 . Now on top of that Newegg sent me a email claiming there was an error with my order and the motherboard I had purchased was no longer instock and was placed on back order.. What does that even mean and they can't do that can they seeing how I already paid for the item? I really hope this isn't some kind of Omen first the CPU and now the Motherboard. I had ordered the Asus Hero VI but since it hasn't even shipped, should I just cancel and purchase another Motherboard? Man I am super bummed right now.

It's the same here in Norway. The TridentZ 16GB 3200 CL16 kit I ordered less than two weeks ago has now increased from 1250 NOK to 1544 NOK. In less than two weeks! That's a 25% increase for a rather basic 2*8GB kit...

The consumers just eat up Ryzen but it seems the suppliers can't handle the demand, the entire launch is very resistive from the industry as a whole. Motherboard shortages, RAM prices, AM4 Adapter shipments, Pre-Order mishaps.

I'll be letting out a HUGE sigh of relief when I get my Motherboard & Corsair AM4 Bracket and get the system up and running. I'll keep it at stock 2400 mem clocks until BIOS matures.

It will be interesting when Ryzen 5 & 3 launch, can the rest of the industry handle the second wave?

Basically they sold more motherboards than they knew they had, in order to lock people into a purchase contract. It's a dick move, but one many places do. So you'll get your board, but you'll be in a queue of people waiting for the next shipping batch.

still no shipping info on my board, but considering the last thing I need is another computer I'm not all that upset.

it's kind of funny how much the line got hyped, how much they advertised it, and then they severely underestimate adoption rates lol
